Major in something else. You can always study history in your free time or even minor in it.

Religion was seldom so cut and dry at that time. Until that point, the vast, vast majority of religions had advocated for worshiping more than one god. I have little doubt that Constantine revered Christ and the Abrahamic God, but he likely retained his faith in the Roman gods as well.
