>I will put my powerful longbow men in a good position so they will be hard to reach
Surely this cant be considered as genius

Out there somewhere right now is a whole village full of people who are genetically close to you, look like you and are "your people". But you aren't with them, you're hunched over a cold computer screen looking for meaning where you can find none. In 10,000BC these people were your closest friends, family and so forth, you and them made up a separate race, you fought side by side to protect your people and they for you.

What do you do to distract yourself from this sad fact?

What are some some decent works on this matter?

I wish to understand the difference between paranoid conspiracy and truth.

From what Ive gathered so far they are just a fraternity based on enlightenment thinking and as a result are taken by established churches as seeking their destruction. However this becomes blurred as some Masons seem to have used their organisation to attack state churches (as happened in Brazil and France to some degree) whilst others used it protect these groups - as done by Frederik in Prussia.

Still it does seem hard to differentiate between masons acting acting on their own motivation and acting as a result of direction by the organisation.

It's a high school club for old and bored rich men. If they have any influence its because they're rich, not because they're masons

Ho-boy. That's a LONG list. I'll say start with Neville Barker-Cryer's York Mysteries Revealed, and then Freemasonry for Dummies by Chris Hodepp, and finally Gould's History of Freemasonry. Read the rituals too (unless you're intending to join, in which case don't spoil it).

People doing shit like that just wanted something to blame their actions on.

Why the idea that the Versailles treaty was unfair and lead directly to WW2 is still widely taught ? It's pretty obvious WW2 completly fucked up Germany and the allies caused way more destructions than the Versailles treaty.

Basically one side argues that Versailles was too lenient and didn't contain Germany enough, the other side argues that it was too harsh and directly launched Germany into a crazy national revanchist sentiment.

Either way, it was shit.

Before 1967, the Romanian abortion policy was one of the most liberal in Europe. Because the availability of less drastic contraceptive methods was poor, abortion was the most common means of family planning.

Through a combination of modernization of the Romanian community, the high participation of women in the labor market and a low standard of living, the number of births significantly decreased since the 1950s, reaching its lowest value in 1966. However, the leaders saw the decreasing number of births mainly as a result of the decree issued in 1957 that legalized abortion. To counter this sharp decline of the population, the Communist Party decided that the Romanian population should be increased from 23 to 30 million inhabitants. In October 1966,[1] decree 770 was authorized by Ceaușescu. Abortion and contraception were declared illegal, except for few very restricted cases.

o enforce the decree, society was strictly controlled. Contraceptives disappeared from the shelves and all women were forced to be monitored monthly by a gynecologist. Any detected pregnancies were followed until birth. Secret police kept their eye on operations in hospitals closely.

Sex education was refocused primarily on the benefits of motherhood, including the ostensible satisfaction of being a heroic mother who gives her homeland many children.

The direct consequence of the decree was a huge baby boom. Between 1966 and 1967 the number of births increased by almost 100%, and the number of children per woman increased from 1.9 to 3.7. Hastily, thousands of nursery schools were built, and the new generation was forced to participate in sports and cultural activities. The generation born in 1967 and 1968 was the largest in Romanian history.

In the seventies, birth rates declined again. Economic pressure on families remained, and people began to seek ways to circumvent the decree. Wealthier women were able to obtain contraceptives illegally, or bribed doctors to give diagnoses which made abortion possible. Especially among the less educated and poorer women there were many unwanted pregnancies. These women could only utilize primitive methods of abortion, which led to infection, sterility or even their own death. The mortality among pregnant women became the highest of Europe during the reign of Ceaușescu. While the childbed mortality rate kept declining over the years in neighboring countries, in Romania it increased to more than ten times that of its neighbors.

Many children born in this period became malnourished, were severely physically handicapped, or ended up in care under grievous conditions, which led to a rise in child mortality.

Since the fall of Decree 770 the number of abortions has risen in Romanian; in 2002, 7.9% of Romanian women had reported undergoing an abortion. Some conclude that the number of abortions is so high because of the lack of knowledge of birth control methods by the Romanian population.
