Was he really that bad of a president, and was what he did that heinous?
Seems to me that both Dubya and Obama have done far worse
Opened up reactions with china, which is a big fucking deal. He was a strong president but his paranoia was too much for him.
Nixon was the last Republican president to care for the average joe. He founded the EPA and brought in work safety standards. The only reason he was vilified was that he kept the Vietnam War going till he got the ceasefire South Nam wanted and the new press needed a scapegoat to justify their existence.

That, and that thing where he had a group of thugs illegally wiretap the DNC HQ. Singlehandly destroying any remaining public trust in the Federal government.
Why did Yugoslavia Join the Allies in WW2 when its landmass was surrounded by Axis Loyalists Like Romania and Italy?
Yugoslavia originally signed the Tripartite treaty allying herself with the Axis powers in March 25, 1941.
Eternal Anglo instigated a coup, and the government was overthrown by Pro-Western factions in the military on March 27, 1941.
They are slavs

Im new here and is this a meme? Da fuq is Eternal Anglo

Why didn't the US nuke the Soviet Union before they got nukes themselves?
Why would they?
>>959511
To defeat communism? The Soviet Union was a powerful threat to the US.
Because the US did not yet have the capacity to manufacture nukes at a fast enough rate to obliterate the Soviet Union; most wargames of 'Operation Unthinkable' play out with a Soviet victory/stalemate even after several atomic bombs have been dropped.
Furthermore, the US - the west in general - was incredibly war-weary. Truman would have been committing electoral suicide if he started another war.
How did Italy rebuild friendly relationships with nations that were her enemies after ww2?
Germany (became an enemy after the Armistice)
France
Greece
Russia
etc
>>963425
Uneducated opinion, but probably easy since the italian people came out having swapped sides and the german gov't(s) was different too.
>>963428
You're saying the the italian people hanging Mussolini themselves helped?
Why did the italians hang Mussolini while the Germans had no mass revolt?
>>963437
They didn't have allied forces to help the uprising I guess.

What's the word for someone who doesn't care about religion?
It's not that I think a deity cannot exist, but if they do, they are some distant thing that doesn't bother me and that I don't bother with. I've always found prayers to be useless and a waste of time and that finding solutions for myself worked better since shit don't happen by itself. I've also always found religion in practice to be full of toxic BS that actively tries to make my life horrible shit, another reason why I've always rejected and avoided it. That's why I've always liked deities from pagan or fictional (redundant but you get my point) mythologies better, they're less intrusive and much more acceptable. Especially in the sexual sphere. Abrahamic religions truly are shit for a woman.
Tl;dr my belief of religious beings is pretty much distant remote things that may or may not be but should never interfere with my daily life. Does that still make me a atheist even though an atheist, by the word's definition, should be someone who thinks deities do not exist at all?

Apatheist; but since you made this thread, I assume you're an Atheist.

Are there any accounts of wonder-workers in Islam? I've read many in Christianity, Hinduism, Buddhism, and Sikhism, but Islam seems to have nothing of the sort, and believe me, I searched. Anyone can give me any examples or sources?
>>962769
Did you look for Sufi saints? Also, traditionally Muslims accepted saints and their miracles of Christians and sometimes Sikhs, making pilgrimages to their shrines as well.
>>962833
I've come across some vague claims about Sufis, but it was a pain in the ass to find anything substantial. Furthermore, I didn't know how accurately it reflected orthodox Islam since Sufism is met with such controversy in the religion.
Also, what are some Christian and Sikh miracles Islam accepts?
>>962858
>orthodox Islam
Until modern times, there wasn't so much orthodox Islam as a small top layer of orthodox legal traditions and the masses influenced mostly by Sufi mysticism and local syncretism.
You'll have to ask your local Sufi lodge for examples. There's an online Sufi wiki as well that might help.
What do you guys think about Ivan the Terrible? There's pitifully little about him on Wikapedia and it took a while to find a non-meme website about him.
a total nutcase, lead poisoning probably

>Drove the Mongolic/Islamic hordes out of Russia
>Made Russia the biggest nation on Earth
>Hero to the peasantry
>Kept corrupt nobles in check
Seems pretty based.
>>962271
This. One of Russia's best rulers. Only mistake he did was killing his dynasty.
Tell me (his), will we ever wear an armour during the war again?
Ask >>>/k/ about the latest in body armor.
Yes, the development hasn't stopped.
>>960539
Again? Soldiers wear armour now.
>>960539
I guess we certainly would. It may just have another shape, a shape we don't use till now
What is the meaning of life according to Alexander the Great?
>>959181
Die young, leave a good looking corpse. And one hell of a legend
"Nothing is impossible to him who will try."
Seems like the best answer desu
>>959194
"I dislike it when young men misquote me on internet message boards."

Why didn't the British attack america during the american civil war?
Are they stupid?
>>957299
They had good relations with the Confederacy. If they attacked from Canada things would have gotten interesting desu. I wonder if the Confederacy would have accepted British entry into the war
>>957299
Well, Britain was going to ally with the south but I seem to recall Russia being like "IF ANYONE DOES ANYTHING TO HELP THEM I WILL FUCK YOU UP"
Maybe I'm wrong about that, but for some reason that is coming to mind.
>>957299
On which side? for the Confeds who had a shit load of cheap cotton to sell to the industrial powerhouse of the world, or for the Union who were abolishing the very thing they'd spent the last 50 years destroying?
Why didn't Hannibal just land in Sicily or Southern Italy? Why did he went north all the way from Iberia, into Gaul and across the Alps? Sure there was an element of surprise but going south would preserve a big chunk of his army. Even only taking Sicily would do a better work than wandering around Italy looking for legions to attack.
Explain that pic, OP

So /his/, Marius or Sulla?
Team Marius till the day I die
Sulla. Fuck the plebs
Both are equally good and equally shitty. Marius saved the republic from shitskins in North Africa and Cimbri and Tuetone-fucking shits in Cisalpine Gaul, and made the Roman army nearly unparalleled for over 120 years with his reforms. Sulla defeated Mithirdates VI, the greatest general Rome had faced since Hannibal.
Marius was an insane gloryhound who massacred hundreds of civilians when he retook Rome. Sulla was a faggot who raised conscription lists because he was a dick.
Pick your poison. At least Augustus was super duper talented despite being an asshole.
Why is Isabella more famous than Ferdinand?
She's appeared in countless books, movies, tv shows, and video games. Half of Latin America and Spain is named after her.
And Ferdinand is rarely mentioned even though it looks like he was more involved in European conflicts than his wife.
Ferdinand is the model of The Prince of Niccolò Machiavelli
not enough for you ?
>>955603
>countless video games
...really? beyond historical strategy games?
>>955603
Because she held more power than Ferdinand.
Okay /his/ I need some suggestions. I am currently writing a college assignment regarding World War One and the art it inspired. To close the paper I must sum up the impact of the Great War in a single word. While I had some ideas I would like to see what yall would have in mind.
>>962639
>despair
basically, everyone saw the war coming, but nobody could do a thing to stop it
