Because its a civilization.

Euronigs can only BTFO Native Tribals or Mesoamerican civilizations during the 1500's-1600's.

Also wasn't a priority. They came to Asia to trade.
>>
They tried, actually. Look into the Japanese Martyrs.

Tl;dr Pope and Portuguese tried to overthrow the Emperor/Shogun by promising a group of Christians special privileges as a new native nobility afterwarda. Given that this group became Martyrs you can guess how well it turned out.

The first time they showed up it seemed like everyone carried swords, giving off an air of extreme militarism. All of Europe just assumed any invasion of Japan would be a bloody mess, even as Japan went through eras of disarming its populace.

The Massacre of the Latins (Italian: Massacro dei Latini; Greek: Σφαγή των Λατίνων) was a large-scale massacre of the Roman Catholic (called "Latin") inhabitants of Constantinople, the capital of the Byzantine Empire, by the Eastern Orthodox population of the city in April 1182.

The Roman Catholics of Constantinople at that time dominated the city's maritime trade and financial sector. Although precise numbers are unavailable, the bulk of the Latin community, estimated at 60,000 at the time by Eustathius of Thessalonica, was wiped out or forced to flee. The Genoese and Pisan communities especially were decimated, and some 4,000 survivors were sold as slaves to the (Turkish) Sultanate of Rum.

The massacre further worsened the image of the Byzantines in the West, and although regular trade agreements were soon resumed between Byzantium and Latin states, the underlying hostility would remain, leading to a spiraling chain of hostilities: a Norman expedition under William II of Sicily in 1185 sacked Thessalonica, the Empire's second largest city, and the German emperors Frederick Barbarossa and Henry VI both threatened to attack Constantinople.

The worsening relationship culminated with the brutal sack of the city of Constantinople by the Fourth Crusade in 1204, which led to the permanent alienation of Eastern Orthodox and Roman Catholics. The massacre itself however remains relatively obscure, and Catholic historian Warren Carroll notes that "Historians who wax eloquent and indignant—with considerable reason—about the sack of Constantinople ... rarely if ever mention the massacre of the Westerners in ... 1182."

>Latinboos thinking the Massacre of the Latins somehow justifies the Sack of 1204 and makes it 'right'

Let us consider the events fully leading up to the massacre in 1182. At the time, the Empire's navy was crippled from lack of funds and administrative reorganization (a shift from the thematic to tagmatic system). As such, it was forced to give out concessions to the Venetians, Pisans, Genoese, and other Italian merchant republics, such that these foreign powers began to gain undue influence and control over the very economy and politics of the Empire.

For one, the Latin merchants calculatingly smothered any arising Greek mercantile competition: as such, even though the fortunes of the Empire and its navy had bettered considerably due to the Komnenian Restoration, they were unable to reassert their economic independence.

Second, the Latins were known for their flagrant disregard of Imperial authority, and at several times, the various quarters of Latin merchants (along with Greek property) were destroyed by the rioting of other Latins - for example, in the 60s, the Genoese rioted and destroyed the Venetian quarter; in the 70s, the Venetians rioted and destroyed the Genoese quarters.

Thirdly, the Latins attempted to change the course of Byzantine politics and internal policy, very much aware of their influence. The Latin merchants associated with the landed Greek aristocracy and often supported the causes of these in an effort to undermine central Imperial authority so as to better emulate the decentralized nature of Western Europe from which they came.

As such, I believe the Massacre of the Latins was completely justified. The Byzantines did no wrong in massacring and expelling the foreigners who were stifling native commerce, disobeying Imperial law and order, and attempting to interfere in the political matters of a sovereign state directly.

If I wanted to hear about Jesus, I would seek out a theologian, I don't need some second hand person who just regurgitates his Sunday pastors sermon.

Christians who act like they are doing "Gods work" by giving random strangers the "good news" is actually just them behaving like narcissists, behaving like they have some high and mighty moral ground to all others.

It's not humble, it's the exact opposite of being humble, it's fucked.

Christians should talk less and do more. We live in 1 galaxy of TRILLIONS of galaxies, with each galaxy containing BILLIONS of stars, which each Galaxies containing TRILLIONS AND TRILLIONS of planets, and you are going to sit there and tell me, in the most anthropocentric way possible, that YOU know what did ALL that? Furthermore, you have a personal relationship with it?

How is this not ego? not narcissism? not power tripping? not the most un-humble ethos a human being can carry in life?

We are factually 1 spec, of 1 spec, of 1 spec of dust in the cosmos, but YOU personally know the acclaimed thing/person/God who made all that.

This is some looney shit m8.

But I get why people follow it, its like comfy as fuck. Religion caters to human social and psychological needs. Especially when it comes to existential questions.

The reality is, when you are dead, you are dead man. Ground food. How do I know this? I've seen dead bodies at war. Seen human bodies torn to pieces, I've also seen road kill, and guess what... It looks very fucking similar. No angle, no super nature bullshit, just life death and reality.

And there is nothing wrong with living life in tune with reality. Nothing wrong at all.

The lower regions of the Nile had areas of gold mining deposits, plus there were numerous tribal peoples employed as mercenaries and scouts in the past. Not to mention Central Africa was ripe with game and farming land, and secure from any powers large enough to threaten Roman sovereignty (ie Persians or Germanic raids).

I would have thought it something the Romans would consider putting resources into.
>>
Probably, but it would have been too strenuous to establish colonies in Central Africa. Rome and Byzantium were in an almost perpetual state of conflict, and putting resources into a very risky colonial expedition that would otherwise go towards a war or bureaucratic effort basically made any arguments towards it null and void.

Eh. You say Washington, but I'd argue that Hamilton was far more instrumental to making the US a successful independent state.

Of course, Washington almost always did what Hamilton suggested, so that worked well.
