If the natives had immunity to European diseases, would the Spaniards still have taken down these two empires?

bump.
I don't know much about this topic myself, hoping to see some interesting discussions.

It's not like indians were wiped out in those places.
>>1142920
Well I don`t know nothing about the Incas but Aztecs were doomed because every other tribe hate them and they allied with the spanish.
Tell me about the Huns.

Why do they invade the west?

How come they stopped going south into the balkanswhen they reached the Bulgars?

What was a Zweihander actually used for?
>>1145091
For battle.
And they aren't that big.
>>1145091
Don't look for video games for accuracy.
The one in the image would never be used in battle. The real ones are bit tiny, thin and long. Similar to katanas but with better metal quality.

charging and attacking enemy pikemen.
Jesus was a 33-year-old unmarried man surrounded by legions of loyal followers, among them innumerable prostitutes, adulterous wives, and gay young boys.
Why do we think he was a virgin, again?
>>1143571
Because MUH FEELS. Just like anything else people believe with no reason or evidence.
Sort of like Jesus' divinity LOL.
He was pretty big on people not having sex outside of marriage.
You have difficulty believing a religious zealot who voluntarily lived in the desert might have been an ascetic? We have religious zealot ascetics alive and walking around TODAY, they aren't exactly unicorns.
If Jesus Christ were alive today what church do you think he would be the most pleased with: Catholic, Orthodox, Or Protestant?
He'd die of shock when he stepped out and saw horseless carts speeding by and everyone around him shouting in their weird tongues.

Which ever is most ready to fight the poor treatment of the weak and forgive sinners truly seeking a fresh start. These seem to be his main things both of which you could describe as compassion.
>>1143365
So id assume Catholic, especially with pope Francis.

>Unironically committed war crimes
There's no way the south would be on with a Sherman presidency
How come the south never reverted towards guerilla warfare when it became obvious they were gonna lose?

There's no such thing as war crimes

Give me historical events in which incredibly difficult decisions had to be made, wherein all options sucked ass
>>1148209
Napoleon III having to decide between declaring war against Prussia and getting probably his shit pushed in as his army wasn't ready, or at best loosing thousands of men , or letting the Prussian gain hegemony within Germany and Europe as a whole. Both options end up with you being played by Bismarck.
Why did the late Roman empire have such trouble raising armies when they could raise them seemingly at will during the middle Republican period, when the empire was essentially just Italy?
Increasing reliance on mercenaries and barbarians.
Aswell as instability, corruption, etc.

Yes.
can this armour be usable in real life ?

I think it's too small to fit a real person
Armor for ants? Maybe in ant warfare.

No one really suddenly gets anything, but they definitely do get all the credit.

When I was a kid, I went to private schooling (not the most prestigious one but still a rather good one where some kids had parents with Porsches, but not my family) and my parents were raking in around 200,000 USD before taxes, and not accounting benefits too. I'm not American but we'll just estimate using US currency.
My mother made me learn violin (hated it), I did sports, went on my first plane ride vacation for two weeks when I was about 14, and I live in one of the richest areas of my country, but nowadays my parents only make about 150,000 annually.
I'm in university, as is my older brother, and I'm thinking about becoming a lawyer. I also just spent the last school year abroad as an international exchange student in Europe.
I've always wondered for historical perspective how wealthy my family would've been 210 years back - in the Napoleonic times. Could anyone guesstimate where I'd be in such a society?
I made this thread yesterday and hoped it would continue into today, but I was busy and it timed out.
Also, post your favourite Napoleonic era uniforms.

Are you autistic
How do I learn history?
I want to become more knowledgeable of European, middle eastern, American and African history so I have a better understanding of current events and why things are happening now.
Are documentaries and youtube videos enough?
>>1145700
John Green's Crash Course videos are all you need
If you want to be "more knowledgeable" then yes, documentaries are enough.
I would not recommend most youtube videos as they will be of wildly varying quality (moreso than documentaries).
Alternatively, try schoolbooks or history books.

this is good for an overview of world history, it gets a lot of shit on /his/ but it's very accessible and entertaining. He has 10-15 minute videos on a range of topics, starting with the beggining of human history and going up to the present day. If any particular topic he covers catches your imagination you should dig deep in it - read books etc. Bear in mind that Crash Course videos are very short and skim over large time periods of time, but it sounds like you sort of want an overview up to the present to better understand current events today. so CC is good for that. Here is the playlist for crash course world history playlist: https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLBDA2E52FB1EF80C9
