Hey /his/, I need some history buffs here to clear up an argument from /pol/
The polish were slaughtering ethnic Germans on the boarder of Poland and Germany and boasting about it, which caused the invasion with russia. Is this true?
It was countered with:
Their actual excuse was a false flag attack on German radio towers literally called Operation Himmler. No one on the international stage bought their excuse for invasion, so Hitler came up with half assed excuse to try and justify it after.
Is the response correct? Or did the polish provoke war first?
>>1240659
>The polish were slaughtering ethnic Germans on the boarder of Poland and Germany and boasting about it
No, but they were "mistreating" ethnic Germans as the Germans had done to ethnic Poles living in Germany for a century.
>which caused the invasion with russia. Is this true?
No, it was an excuse made by the Germans to justify war. Hitler would have pursed a war regardless.
>Or did the polish provoke war first?
Provoke maybe, but as I said above, there would have been a war regardless of their actions.
The Poles were being assholes to Germans out of revanchism, but there was no genocide.
>>1240659
The Germans commissioned investigators after the invasion of Poland was over to document the supposed crimes of the Poles. The first draft of the report, released in November 1939, documented the murders of ~5,400 ethnic Germans by Poles leading up to the invasion. This was later changed by authorities to 54,000, mostly because they felt they needed a larger number to keep the populace convinced the war was necessary in spite of the wholesale slaughter of Poles that immediately followed the invasion.
However, contrary to the claims of the Germans, these murders weren't state sponsored in any way. There were definitely tensions in many places, with some Polish soldiers targeting ethnic Germans once the war broke out (while others went out of their way to protect them), but as a whole the German propaganda is just that - propaganda. Remember that there were also ethnic German militias in parts of Poland that were stirring up shit as well, so the claim that the Poles were maliciously targeting innocent Germans doesn't really hold much water.
It's also notable that the German commission tasked with documenting war crimes saw right through the poorly-executed false flag attack Germany used as casus belli.

What lies are bishops telling priests?
What lies are arch-bishops telling bishops?

What lies does the pope tell /everyone/?
Did he destroy Rome?
>>1240396
No, he redeemed it.
>>1240396
Yes, shortly after he was resurrected he went to Rome and destroyed it by causing lightning to strike all the buildings. This is where the myths of Thor and Perkunas come from. Constantine tried to damage control by moving the capital to Greece and editing this story out of the bible, but true Christians know what really happened.
Nope, the Roman Empire continued for about 1400 more years.
What did he mean by this?

Hi, lets just jump right into this. Ever since I could remember my father would always rant and go on and on about how my grandpa was a nazi. He would claim that back in WW2 he killed jews and was a terrible person, I never believed him since my grandpa was such a nice guy, and I figured my dad just had some kind of grudge against him so he made stuff up to put me against him. However... Unfortunately about a week ago my grandfather passed away, and I was at his house yesterday squaring away all his belongings and such to be taken back to my parents house. So, I was in the basement rummaging through some stuff when I came across and old box, It contained some old coins, jewelry and something very unsettling... a knife with a swastika on it. When I found it, it had some kind of covering over the blade, and their were no engravings on the blade either. I took a picture of it with and without the cover. What I'm trying to find out, and im praying that it isn't is if that knife is authentic or not? We are indeed of german decent, and I need to find out if its real or not for my own clarity, please help. FYI This has nothing to do with race, german or jewish, HOWEVER the reason I would like to no, and the reason I would be unhappy if what my dad said is true is that it would mean my grandpa has lied to me about this my entire life, and it would make me wonder... what else has he lied about? Thats the only reason its unsettling, it has nothing to do with the fact its has a swastika in general.
Did you find anything else?
>>1240167
did you ever ask your grandpa with him denying it?
Is all of Roman culture based around the fact they were cucked by the Punics? glorious J2 DNA is what truely made Rome great? The Phoenicians invented the Alphabet. The architect of Roman ideology was Zeno, a Phoenician.

If you're going to just go ahead and do something retarded like giving another civilization full credit for having some influence on the Romans, give it to the Greeks. But really, everyone influenced everyone else. The difference is, the Romans swallowed all of them up into their empire.

So whats the deal with this particular denomination?
>>1239936
Yeah, the Westboro Baptist Church. I live in Kansas City, not far from them.
They're a radical christian church. It's hereditary in structure, with the Phelps family forming the core of the group.
They believe God actively punishes America for its immorality. They draw a line between the acceptence of homosexuality and 9/11 and the deaths of soldiers. So they go to military funerals to protest, "God Hates Fags" and what not, because if America didn't embrace immorality, God would protect us.
It's a very "active" group, they believe in outreach to their enemies, and generally shun politeness, because its just that serious to them.
When you're right about everything, you've every right to flaunt it
>>1240520
Eh. Its not really about religion. They make their money through lawsuits against people who physically attack them during their protests.
I suppose if it was about religion they'd love they enemy or whatnot.
Also... If God hated America so much why is the quality of life so much higher that say religious Uganda with their eat da poo poo laws.

I think Buddhism is better. Jainism has too much of a focus on extreme ascetic practices.

How did the economic policies during Videla's rule differ from Pinochet's? As far as I know, both Argentina and Chile had neoliberalism but I rarely see people praise Videla for the economy but I see many praise Pinochet for the economy.
How profitable was liquor production in the Industrial Revolution? If I wanted to make the most money, should I invest into a liquor distillery, a steel mill, or a textile factory?
>>1239503
Why?
You have a time traveling machine or some shit

Look at the rich robber barons of the time and what industry they controlled. That will probably let you tier them based on profitability.
