lmao op the majority of the people have never read anything by them.
So we just paint our dummies into different colors, form lines, and command them to stay against each one and shoot. Also they can charge... And sometimes cavalry shows up... Also artillery shells the motherfuckers as they stand close enough to each other.
What sense does it make?
Wouldn't it be better to use some kind of a disguise? Shoot from the cover and attack in small groups?
That's 18th century style.
Napoleonic style is more dynamic.
>>1296390
I mean those kinds of rifles are only considered accurate in mass volleys. You could go for a stealthy approach, but how would that work with 20+ people? Not only that but after you fire your position is immediately compromised.
>>1296390
Well I dunno how bout you pick up a fucking book and stop making this thread every few hours?
In greatest and most likely probability, Jesus was nothing more than an apocalyptic preacher in 1st century Judea who taught about either the need for the reform of Judaism or that he was the Jewish messiah and that the end times were near (or perhaps a combination of both). However, he was most likely put to death under orders of the Romans for causing agitation, and either through a 'pious' crime or actual displacement of his body/grave (either by mistake or grave robbery or some other method), was believed to have either resurrected or ascended into Heaven like Elijah.
His immediate followers (Nazarenes and eventually Ebionites) were simply Jews who considered Jesus a great teacher, at at most, a prophet.
Most - if not all - of what is written in the Biblical NT is the invention of either Paul or those Greek converts who worked off of Paul's ideas, themselves either outright lies or delusions. Ironically, the Church in its persecution of the Ebionites destroyed whatever might have remained of the original actual teachings of Jesus.
Jesus (Yeshua) was probably a real individual; Christ is a mythical and fictional character.
Proof?

>Most - if not all - of what is written in the Biblical NT is the invention of either Paul or those Greek converts who worked off of Paul's ideas
But this is the best part. If it weren't for them Christianity would be just Judaism.

>"the more believable alternative is Jesus was a magic god-man who impregnated his own mother with himself in order to sacrifice himself to appease himself; and a number of other magic crap like resurrecting the dead and transmutation and breaking natural laws happened too"
Christcucks can't be this dumb.

You and your 7th Panzer Division kameraden are making the final 35km push on Moscow, and this guy slaps your girlfriend's ass.
What do you do?
>find a nice pair of index-fingerless gloves and a comfy foxhole from which to shoot down the incoming gorillion Russians
You want to talk Zhukov, why would you bring up Moscow? It was a terrible victory.
>>1296046
>ze gorillion Russians
Fuck off Hans.

Fucking pull out me pistol and kill him or take him hostage if possible. I mean holy shit the field marshal just radiates off of him and his many medals. He's obviously a VIP.
Are there any documentaries about Hitler that aren't stupid and childish? They basically all go:
>This is a picture of Hitler as a child
>Bet his mother didn't know he would become PURE EVIL
I mean goddamn I just want to learn about this period of history.
>>1295969
hitler: the greatest story never told
it's just a different kind of bias, but it's already something
>>1295984
Came to post this.

But it's true that his mother didn't know he would become PURE EVIL!

What was the religion of Leonardo da Vinci? I've heard everything from reluctant Catholic, to Deist to Gnostic to crypto-Pagan.
My favorite theory is that he was from a Gnostic sect that revered John the Baptist instead of Jesus, and that he's paintings are full of Gnotisc and occult symbolism and allusions to the primacy of John the Baptist, but I'd like to know what other people have to say.
Seems pretty far fetched. Was there such a sect in northern Italy at that time?
>>1295890
I don't desu I've only read analisys of his paintings. But I know for a fact that the Renaissance saw a revival of occultism.
>>1295870
Could be. Gnosticism had gone underground in those times. Most of them went into alchemy.
What texts/books would you recommend for research on the history based on the events of the film Kingdom of Heaven? I know fully well that the film is highly fictionalized, and I am not looking to it as some epic war story. Any recommended original texts or books (preferably in English) would be appreciated.
>>1295834
1965, but authoritative and easy to read.
Steve Runciman's 3 volumes of The Crusades
The Crusades by Thomas Asbridge
>be samurai

SAMURAI ON SEPPUKU WATCH
>>1295763
Samurais already used guns by the the time of the Boshin war.
>>1295804
Which makes them kinda pointless doesn't it? Why have samurai when you can have ashigaru who do the same shit?
>>1295850
I'd assume this is true, but samurai will have higher morale and their armor will stop a ball at long distance. May as well use them.
> The Unbelievable Tale of Jesus’s Wife:
> A hotly contested, supposedly ancient manuscript suggests Christ was married. But believing its origin story requires a big leap of faith.

not really, a czar was more of an emperor of kingdoms and duchies, to call a czar a king was an insult, kings would bow to the czar.
>>1295695
Czar literally means king though
>"Dude, lions are cool as shit!"
Is this pretty much the thought process behind this and coats of arms and all cultural symbols?
>>1295323
Dunno
I know England got lions because the Western French provinces who conquered them (Normandy and Anjou) used hem to begin with, but I don't know about other countries
>>1295323
Yes. They;re fat-cats who sleep all day, eat loads of meat, and have their subordinates do all the hunting for them. The bourgeois of the animal kingdom.

Is anyone else disappointed by ancient and medieval warfare? It was just a bunch of dull sieges and spearmen poking each other. Speaking of spearmen why weren't pikes used instead?
>>1295222
>why weren't pikes used instead?
Pikes are spears, and they were used.
Also nice trips.
>>1295232
What's the point of a spear when you can have a longer pike?
>>1295279
So you can use a shield and fight better individually.
