Find one Protestant confessional statement which rejects good works. Every Protestant church -- Lutheran, Reformed, Anglican -- teaches good works. What they do not do is make good works an instrument of justification. This and no more.

What is Hinduism.
from my understanding. kings and other rulers would convert to Christianity but the common people would still hold onto the pagan traditions for years to come. which is how many of those traditions spilled into Christianity (Easter being a prime example)

Zhukov, Rokossovsky, Chuikov, Yeryomenko were all great generals. I'm on the fence about Semyon Budyonny. His defense of the Carpathians was incredibly important to soviet supply lines, but I wouldn't br surprised if anyone could defend such a geographical area against an army depleted by the battle of Stalingrad.

When following the news lately nationalism seems to be on the rise in Europe, especially since the refugee crisis is increasing people only seem to care about their own kind.
Nationalist partys in many countries seem to aquire more and more support.
My question is the following: has this happened before?

This is a thread about discussing historical foods, food that made an impact on history, and their preperation
Long-distance sailing was crippled by Scurvy which had the potential to kill hundreds of crew members.
In comes Captain James Cook testing out solutions and among them Sauerkraut which was found to help prevent Scurvy due to the high amount of Vitamin-C in it, along side it's cheap price (Cabbages and brine were much cheaper than citrus fruits) and long storage time it aided in the survival of many sailors.
What other historically significant food can you think of?
Let me get a few obvious ones out of the way:

A notorious point of contention between Catholics/Orthodox and Protestants is the translation of Luke 1:28, whether the term should be translated as "grace" or "favor" (the word is the Greek word for grace, throughout the Bible, but "favor" is still an equally apt translation, but lack on uniformity of translation mars it).
But even if we choose to translate the word here as "favored", instead of "graced" (as in all other contexts), it still indicates the sinlessness of Mary, because the case of the word is *perfect participle*. This does not mean "highly" favored, it means *completely* favored (a perfect participle of "grown" in Greek, for instance, would be the equivalent of the English "full-grown"). This\ means God's favor of her could not be any higher, it is full-grown, which indicates she is sinless.
