Do any of you fine folks know an estimate of Denmark's population around 1400? Preferably with a source, but if you have it by memory, that'll be fine too.
On another note, do any of you know the historical context around why Norway had this much clay back in 1135? (pic related)

Why did the french revolution suceed? And was it planned in advance - If yes, just by whom exactly?
Also, why did the pro-monarchist vendée counter-revolution in the years that followed fail?
Some retard is gonna come in here with some Barruel 'muh illuminati freemason jewish protestant conspiracy to overthrow civilization' shit, ignore them.
No, it wasn't planned, but a lot of people and political/ideological forces that had been waiting a long time to put their ideas and philosophies into practice seized upon the public discontent to carry out a lot of social experiments (with varying degrees of success).
The counter-revolution didn't so much fail as fizzle out and compromise. The Republican government came down from the zenith of its radicalism, chilled out a little bit and said 'okay we'll stop burning down your churches and killing your priests and putting statues of reason everywhere if you stop rebelling'. The insurgents for the most part accepted the compromise and hung up their arms. A few diehards held out and things flared up again for a brief time when Napoleon staged his Hundred Days, but that was about it.

No. It was retardation on the royalty and nobles part.
They bankrupted France with the intervention in the American Revolution and the nobles didn't want to pay for it so they taxes the lower classes into oblivion.
Then when farming failures happened it just made everyone mad so they killed the king etc and all that jazz.
Lesson learned. If France kept to itself it would still have a king today.

The revolution was about social change, about tearing down the ancien regime and ending serfdom. The power of the Church and nobles was broken beyond repair, there was a constitution, and representative government.
The Orleans and Bourbon monarchies that emerged from the ashes of Napoleon's defeat never tried to reestablish the old ways, the revolution had swept them away forever.

Do employers like History degrees?
Or is it difficult to get a decent job with one?
I knew a guy with a PhD in history.
He works as a security guard.
>>1363612
Well, it goes without saying that anyone who does a PhD in History is retarded and wasting their time apart from the tiny % that become university lecturers. But I'm talking about a Bachelor's.
>>1363627
Believe it or not, even in STEM, if you started work with a bachelor's you'll end up making more by the time most people get their PhDs (and I'm specifically referring to those who wait until getting their PhDs before they even bother getting a job). There's a shocking amount of people like that in the job market, which lowers everyone's else chance.
Ever have a overbearing parent and run away from home with a gay lover? Ever have your dad ground you afterwards and give you a punishment that is a tad excessive? Ever take that punishment way to hard, and end up venting that angst onto neighboring nation-states upon your father's death? Ever become one of the worlds greatest patrons of the arts and culture an entire race of people from pure militarism? Ever successfully repel a coordinated invasion by the three largest superpowers on the planet?
Then you share something with Old Fritz.
Any recommended biographies on Fred would be greatly appreciated. Also any discussion on Frederick in this thread will be acknowledged.

I personally don't believe in "evil", i think it just an aspect that we apply to things that don't fall in line with our own morality. Making Good and Evil subjective etc etc.
Im more curious to what makes something "evil". What is evil itself. No is born into this world hating anything. So where does evil come from.
Evil is greed ignorance and anger.
-t Buddhism
The thing is, there is no such thing as true evil. Adolf Hitler? Screwed up childhood that caused mental instabilities? Joseph Stalin? Believed what he was doing was for "the greater good", same as hitler. The average blood or crip gang member? Believes that is what they need to do in order to survive
We live in a world driven by self interest and the feeling of necessity to do what is in that interest
"evil" can be described as the source of fear
to a psychopath who lacks fear there is no evil
to a normal person the source of said evil is the psychopath.
Is the pious loved by the gods because it is pious, or is it pious because it is loved by the gods?
Depends on what god(s) you're talking about.
Being pious is to be godlike.

--> The word about specialities in sex preferences and choice of partner is a lie
I can't be called an above normal speciality. I'm hetero and wanting to say something about it normally means the one that is saying it has some- or anything at all to do with it.
Among other things this confirms it is untrue
So just looking at this, any thoughts about this:
Male around age 13 has, or can have the position of a girlfriend of a male of any age. And what is this position normally.
This sort of thing can't automatically lead to a special preference.
