>Person A owns a machine for making clothes
>Person B owns some cotton
>Person C uses Person B's cotton and Person A's machine to make a shirt
Who should primarily have the rights to the use or sale of the shirt?
I don't know.
Whoever is the strongest. Might is right.
C created the shirt, so C. Presumably A and B were compensated for the use of their property.
Everyone here seems to glorify the empire and the western roman era, but wouldn't you say that it was at its healthiest ( economic stability, military capability and not being stretched too thin ) during the late republic era? Was it dying ever since Caesars death? It seems to me it was downhill after the republic, and during the empires time the senate was almost irrelevant, more of a congress to the president relationship. Why doesn't everyone on /his/ who glorifies Rome glorify the republic specifically? Religious pressure was low, rebellion wasn't always around the corner, they could handle rebels and the armies were mostly comprised of Romans.
Give me your opinion /his/torians
>>>>>>>>>BONUS ROUND
looking at the western roman empires army not using the scutum or the segmented roman armor or taking the same practices as the old romans, could a Caesar era legion wipe the floor with an equal sized western roman army?
OP bump im hyped to be redpilled
300BC was the golden age of Rome
I think you're just a republi-boo
Why is it called "Cultural Marxism" when Karl Marx never wrote anything on the subject?
Shouldn't it be called "Cultural Liberalism"?
Because red-baiting was a big thing in the 50s, and autists are usually two or three generations behind mentally.
Because it uses Marxist theory. A lot of Marxists today see sexual minorities and women as the true revolutionary class, with the proletariat often being a reactionary class, much like how Marx saw the lumpen. Marx didn't understand cultural capital, that's the key here
>>1400177
Because it's a hoax created by right wing pundits.
Do "Cultural" foods bear any resemblance to the foods people would eat 100, 200 years ago? I never see info of what people would eat in the past, and I highly doubt people would eat the same porridge slop every day
>>1397846
A lot of the food you eat during the holidays are the same as what you ate 200 years go.
As a poor student I confirm that even now I eat same porridge slop every day. It is then quite normal to assume that comme people were even poorer than I am rn.
>>1397846
>Any resemblance
Yes, they resemble. But that doesn't mean they didn't modify the food in 200 years.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sandwich#History
Is there something wrong with humans?
We as a species aren't worthy.
Basically Marx says that the dictatorship of the proletariat will slowly transform into a stateless society without government, while in reality the ruling communist class will NEVER let go of power unless they're ousted by a revolution or if the country economically collapses, in which case they always revert back to capitalism. See: every socialist country ever.

What if we tried skipping the DotP stage.
The reason you guys hate Turkey and the Ottoman Empire is because of Islam. Just fucking admit it. Not because of 'muh oppressed slaves' or whatever like that.
The Ottoman Empire was on par with Persia, China, and Rome. They basically did the same shit and did so in a more difficult timeperiod.
>>1394228
It's part Islam, part butthurt greeks.
>>1394228
Dude even other Muslims hate Turks
I admit it, what's your point?
Who was the greatest leader in the history of the world?
Also - who was the greatest leader of the past 300 years?
>>1401685
Under what criteria?
>>1401690
Virtue and contribution to humanity.
People can also just list different leaders for various categories as well.
>Who was the greatest leader in the history of the world?
Jesus. He founded God's own church, laying the foundations to a religion that would forever impact the everyday lives of everyone.
>Also - who was the greatest leader of the past 300 years?
Hitler, tied with Napoleon.
Napoleon's leadership made it possible to conquer a lot of land for the French, he was an unique individual, not the kind of guy you can just replace. Napoleonic era simply wouldn't have happened without him.
Hitler because he inspired a nation and a people. He was a nice idealist, a different kind of leader. I also think he's a bit cute.
Honorable mention to George Washington, but he wasn't that much important as a leader. 1776 would have happened even if he didn't exist. A leader can only be considered a leader if what happened wouldn't have happened without his presence.
>If you stop existing when you die, that just means that you have to make the most of this life!
Is there a worse atheist meme than this? You can only make the most of your life by long-term planning. But if you take your long-term planning seriously, everything has a value of zero.
On atheism, a person on their deathbed might have regrets. But that's fine, they just have to wait a few minutes and then they won't feel regretful anymore. Not much of a problem.
>>1402734
>You can only make the most of your life by long-term planning
this is an opinion
>if you take your long-term planning seriously, everything has a value of zero.
this is also an opinion
I don't get it you're just sharing opinions, is this your blog?
>>1402775
Neither of them are opinions, friend.
The first is obvious. You won't make the most of your life by eating every cake put in front of you. You need to think about what you want to do in the future, and how to get there.
The second is also obvious. For the same reason that you shouldn't just eat every cake in front of you, you also shouldn't care about forming any memory that will be destroyed when your brain is destroyed.
>>1402781
An atheist is perfectly capable of devoting themselves to a greater cause or wanting to leave a mark on the world. It doesn't matter if they won't be around anymore to enjoy it.
What you're talking about a nihilistic hedonist.
What was his problem?
One man can only be so right.
Sounds like a sensitive guy and thoughtful guy who paid for it in his developmental years. I don't mean sensitive in a bad light, either.
>>1402547
I'm pretty sure he was molested in his childhood in some way.
Are there any ideologies that can be practised in a society in which the powers that be are actively working to eliminate that ideology?
Anti-natalism. What is the worst that they can do? To help you existing?
>>1401472
Christianity
Communism is inherently built to be good at underground resistance / subversion of the dominant ideology
Why don't they teach anymore, or at the very least integrate it into higher education in some form?
Because religion has no place in science. Try to name one invention where theology played some role. You can't, because it is a useless garbage.
>>1401482
A priest came up with the Big Bang theory and a monk discovered genetics. Also you're a fag.
>>1401487
Big Bang Theory and Genetics aren't based on the Theological Statements. It is like saying if inventor of computers was gay then Homosexuality should be considered as the basis of a computer science and integrated into higher education in some form.
Is the abolition of all hierarchy a noble goal? Are anarchists? Or is some hierarchy necessary, or even good in itself, to maintain order.
>>1401008
You would have to abolish human genetics to abolish hierarchy.
>>1401326
>he thinks the most fit are the ones who rule
>Is the abolition of all hierarchy a noble goal?
technically most countries don't even have hierarchies. People who talk of "class" talk about informal and de facto terms that can be used against anyone that has some power. Kinda a buzzword at this point
>Are anarchists?
not really since it allows the ignoble to rule uncontested (I mean who's goinna stop them? the police? the army?)
>Or is some hierarchy necessary, or even good in itself, to maintain order.
if you accept the buzzword seriously hierarchy occurs naturally like plants or bacteria.
"Will to power" really should have been translated "will to action", I think we could have cleared up all of the edgy misinterpretation, and the Christian misinterpretation, if people understood that.
Why does this guy trigger Christians so much? The book "American Nietzsche" talks in great depth about how much American evangelicals freaked the fuck out about Nietzsche's writings, and it's just so beautiful.
>Let us look a century ahead, let us suppose that my attentat on two millennia of anti-nature and the violation of man succeeds. That party of life which takes in hand the greatest of all tasks, the higher breeding of humanity, together with the remorseless destruction of all degenerate and parasitic elements, will again make possible on earth that superfluity of life out of which the dionysian condition must again proceed. I promise a tragic age: the supreme art in the affirmation of life, tragedy, will be reborn when mankind has behind it the conscousness of the harshest but most necessary wars without suffering from it
Yeah, if only we just used a slightly different English translation of "der Wille zur Macht," Nietzsche would never have written all the shit he wrote.
>>1401035
Kek he did like war and strife, but you're taking alot of that shit in the wrong way.
>>1400993
How about people actually read the fucking books to understand the words in context?
No, we don't need more dumbing down of the culture.
No, it will not work because stupid people are stupid.
I need some help on my Art Appreciation test
What's the answer, /his/?
>>1400580
>the question is racist
Can this actually be real
I know nothing about African art, but maybe the one on the right, since it's more stylized? And if I remember right the ones like on the left are pretty sophisticated bronzework
I don't trust you OP.
Why doesn't the question start with a capital letter?
