Why were Ancient people so brutal?

I always thought that only white people invented slavery and genocide but when I open the bible it is full with it.

This doesn't fit the narrative of the peaceful, nature-loving people at all who existed before white people started turning the world to hell.

Has there ever been a successful government that has been far left/progressive?

As only a casual reader of history, it seems to me all populist or "people's" movements all eventually implode because the ideology is inherently self-defeating. Am I missing something?

Also, I don't want to make this a modern "left vs right" debate, please. this isn't /pol/.

Why I don't consider the Armenian Genocide, a genocide.

Thus, there was neither any planned execution of Armenians, nor such an intention. Even the Clinton Administration continues to back the Turkish people on this issue.
