Since you don't experience the time before you were born, and won't experience the time after you die, can we say in a philosophical sense that you lived forever? Since you were alive for the entirety of your life, its basically your own private eternity.
Thoughts?

I lived my life.
But not the life of the whole of mankind.

damn this is kinda deep

Anyone?
Gildas writes of a state of chaos and confusion with a civilization that had persisted for four centuries collapsing. He thought the end of Roman rule and the invasion of the Anglo Saxons was God’s punishment for their sins.
Anyone here interested in Interwar Britain?
Anyone?
>>1473130
Gildas is also a short-arse wanker.
When it comes to sexuality, preferences and fetishes, is it nature or is it nurture?
>>1472864
Both. You can condition yourself to have some pretty sick fetishes.
Oh yeah, I forgot to ask?
How did past societies view sexuality and how has that changed over the centuries?

what do protestantism and industriousness have to do with each other?
Jack shit. People just noted the correlation between protestantism and wealth creation in the 19th century but as reality proved, it's just correlation, not causation. Look at Europe now, the richest region of Germany is hands down Bavaria which is also the most Catholic.
nothing, Weber was autistic
>>1470563
Switzerland is the richest region in Europe and it's Protestant
In Hinduism, why is the warrior king class (Ksatriyas) subordinate to the priestly class (Brahmins?) Is there really any other example in a civilization where weak frail intellectual priests were on a higher position on the scale than the kings and warriors, the men of action? Especially considering that the foundations of Hindu society are based on how the invading war-like Aryans structured their new homes
Also, why are the highest ranks on the caste system lighter in skin tone than the lowest? Would this suggest an old racial system of separation between the invading Aryans and the natives that were there before the Aryans? Having been to India, most low caste Indian women in particular bear a striking resemblance to Australian aboriginals and other aboriginal groups throughout south and southeast Asia, some Brahmins, I observed, could even pass for southern Europeans.
Feudal system
Aryan invasion theory is false. Skin color has nothing to do with caste.
Medieval Europe?
What limitations do you think there should be on free speech?
>>1467800
People shouldn't be allowed to say what I don't like.
Guess which political party I belong to.

Does not compute

Anyone else notice how most Middle Eastern/Arab rulers look much whiter than the population they rule over? Why is this? Is there some historical reason for this?

Hello /his/torians.
How about we create an ideal army?
The game is very simple. Copy the last command chain posted by anon in the thread, paste it on MS paint, and give it new leaders.
You can create new units, change leader positions and so on. The idea is that we can grow and have as many military historical figures as possible, from Julius Caesar and Alexander the Great, to Simo Haya and Chris Kyle.
I am confident you are familiar with command structures and command chains, as well as military symbology, but in the case you aren't, here are some helpful links:
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/NATO_Joint_Military_Symbology#Unit_sizes
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/NATO_Joint_Military_Symbology#/media/File:1st_Marine_Expeditionary_Force.png
For the purposes of this thread, military hierachy goes as follows:
Commander > Admiral/General > Colonel > Major > Captain > Liutenant > Sargeant
You are really free to edit it as you want. Change a general for another, change the layout. You may add just one new leader or a whole bunch. You can fix anything wrong with previous posts.
Ready? Let's go.
like this?
am I doing it right

This is good except Nelson should be naval commander
Why should society accept and protect those who proudly reject and exploit it?
>>1470405
Because Rule of Law.
If you are some simpering monarchist or thoughtless fascist I guess you wouldn't understand this and just wish immediate death by the word of the Big Father Figure you never had.
>>1470420
>rule of law
While I understand the importance to leave no room for arbitrary punishment, I believe you can settle laws in ways that put people under the sword who violated a clear treshold set by law.
Does humanity tolerate psychopaths?
is fascism inherently bad?
is it wrong to be a fascist?
how badly is it seen to be one? is it because muh hitler?
do you agree fascism is good in principle?
>>1469059
its rather pathetic that you have to use terms like good and bad to describe a socio-economic system that may mean 1 thing to an Italian and mean something completely different to a German or Spaniard.
Delete this thread and word your post better, otherwise I know you're baiting responses and don't deserve anything more than this.
>>1469072
I'm not baiting responses.
I am making short questions simply because answering them becomes more of an open task, and therefore discussion flows more.
Despite the differences fascism has things in common with everywhere its implemented.
So instead of talking shit, you could alternatively read something before doing so. You could start here:
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fascism
https://www.britannica.com/topic/fascism
http://www.dictionary.com/browse/fascism
Delete this post otherwise you're making an embarassment out of yourself.
>>1469059
>is fascism inherently bad?
Depends if you believe in free speech and liberty.
If one does, then facism can go fuck itself with a brick.
Why does it seem like Ancient China never gets any love in the documentary sector? Do any of you even any interest in Ancient China?
Ancient Chinese culture is pretty rich and compelling. Granted they were pretty isolated from the west, Rome and Greece but they sure did a hell of a lot and a lot earlier then other cultures of the time.

Check it out. Technologies from Ancient China
Because most of European exposure to Asia was in the context of colonialism, its hard to give a convincing argument of why you are subjugating a great people so its easier to pretend that they were never great
PRC is the main opponent in the West, so good luck getting anything of quality and/or in quantity by documentary makers
>>1468742
Cause 80% of documentaries are about WWII, so there is no much room for China (or anything else for that matter).

Which is more anti-Semitic, Christianity or Islam?
>>1475303
Islam and it's not even close
Christians, especially conservative ones in America are head over heels for Israel.
Bible calls jews the synagogue of Satan, yet it says they are still god's chosen people
Quran denounces jews hard because they betrayed Jesus, yet it says they are people of the book, and are going to heaven
so you could say it's equal
>>1475303
Islam.
Next question.

Were non-aryan foreign volunteers in the German SS racially segregated?
>>1475065
I think so.
Besides, the Indians where usually fighting because the hated British oppression.
If South africa and America did why not Germany
There are some great videos one Youtube where Wehrmacht and SS soldiers tell their stories.
I remember one chuckling and saying that those foreign Waffen-SS were jokingly called "Beutegermanen"(Prey Germanics).
>muh capitalism
>muh communism
Let's talk feudalism.
Is it possible that it's the new way for developed countries?
No, although I don't agree with his conclusion that communism was the next step, Marx was absolutely right that economic systems are a product of material realities.
>>1472333
Do you know how feudalism starts off?
I lol at /pol/acks who think that anyone they would like could set up a feudalist state, it would be someone who's african or arab.
