Is thought the only 'infinite' thing?
>>1608333
Space is infinite
Tougth isn't infinite, your brain has limited processing abilities
>>1608333
thought isnt infinite you have the scarcity of time, and to a posteriori degree, experience

We discuss hypothetical scenarios in this thread
What would happen if the Genghis Khan was never born? There were no ulterior factors leading to Mongol unification at the time so it's very unlikely there would've been someone in his stead. Consequently, the Silk Road would never have been embellished to Europe and Spain wouldn't have had the sufficient capacity to voyage to the Americas, and would not have had gunpowder. In the same vain, the bubonic plague would've never occurred and Europe's social classes wouldn't have rearranged more secularly. How, then, would the Inca and Aztecs have developed?

Truth be told, I just wonder it'd be like if Bismarcks unified Germany didn't fall apart at the hands of Wilhelm and Hitler

Russia wouldn't be a shithole

Haha ok!
Doesn't introspection always lead to depression?
In the end, after "logically" trying to look deep into myself, I always come up with the same conclusion about what I Really Want (TM).
I want to die.
Life is annoying. There is no permanent gain, just a bunch of nonsense. I mean yeah I could work hard and have an hour of pure joy in a year's time, but honestly I'd rather just have peace and quiet.
Is introspection the worst meme of all time?
>>1608254
Not always, depends on the person. You personally are pretty much fucked
>>1608254
You just need to find something other than nihilism
Some people like helping others (altruism)
Others want to achieve the most possible with their life (humanism)
>i feel this way, therefore this entire school of thought is flawed
I happen to be a very positive person, and I probably get much different results from introspection than you do.
Also, you have to realize that introspection can be a means, and not an end. Looking in could make you realize something awful about yourself, and while that's unpleasant you can move forward and deal with the problem using other means, now that you have divined exactly what it is that you dislike about yourself.
It seems like you could get stuck in a negative feedback loop, where you don't see anything enjoyable, so you look for a purpose within, and when you cannot find it you get more depressed and feel that nothing outside gives you purpose, ad infinitum.
Try to question your presuppositions about what you know about yourself, don't think the purpose of self-meditation is to find something new inside you
Was reading out loud more common before the 5th century than silent reading?
I don't get the point of your pic.

Can we make a list of obscure military geniuses the mainstream fails to appreciate? I get tired of hearing "muh Caesar" and "muh Napoleon" 24/7. I want to hear about Tran Hung Dao and the 3rd Duke of Alba.

good idea of a thread. make more like this.
General Buttnaked. Operation No Living Thing.
So I often see claims that this image depicts the Christmas Truce of 1914.
The problem is, the German Stahlhelm didn't exist until 1916.
What is the actual context of this image, and where/when was it taken?

The course of French politics.
Being an aggressive, imperialistic and culturally domineering force is good for the long term of humanity. Prove me wrong: protip, you can't.
History's largest civilising forces; Ancient Rome, Han China, the British Empire - they all got what surrounding retards saw as morally reprehensible through conquest, yet now they are remembered to be history's civilisational heroes because they bought the light to barbarians.
The United States, in its' interventionism in the Middle East and subduing of caveman Islamism, is doing good for the long term of humanity. Prove me wrong; protip, you can't.

Everyone indulges. Just be sure you are indulging in that (including ideas that would otherwise be spooks) that you desire, as opposed to spooks you are convinced you ought to serve.
Why didn't the allies in WW1 or WW2 split up Germany and divide the territory among other countries. It's obvious they can't be trusted with their own, unified country.
Idk, OP why did you make this bait thread?
Because saving Europe is too much trouble.

What was the best era for art? is it the one we're living in?
>>1607911
Contemporary art in my opinion is more to do with shock rather than aesthetic. Garunteed, there is art that does this, but it's rare to find, even in some art galleries.
My personal favourite era was art during the early to mid 20th century.
there is a lot of good contemporary art. Hell, Doig's stuff sells for more than any other contemporary artist, nd has little to do with shock value
