Emperor Popatine was really a man who embodied the classic popes at a time when a classic tradition following pope was exactly what the church did not need at the time, and to compound the issue he never truly wanted the job in the first place I feel. He was always more comfortable behind the scenes and when writing theological works.
I feel his legacy will be one of the placeholder, the man who recognized when he was not fit for the job and gracefully bowed out to live a life of religious contemplation. I highly recommend reading his various writings.

Nearly every modern warship has a flight deck and aviation hanger to take advantage of helicopters. But most WW2 era warships don't didn't these, unless they were purpose-built aircraft carriers. And even then, they only carrier prop-planes, not helicopters. Why is this? Did they just not know how to make them? What was the technological breakthrough that made helicopters a reality for the first time?
Also, if one side had started using helicopters during WW2, how might the other side have gone about countering them?

I think all major religion are fakes made to better control poeple and make them do what one wants.
They all appeared suddenly and then a book with the "word of god" is written and immediately brought around in the world to teach it to the most poeple.
The "natural" religions of men were those you can still see in isolated tribes : a multitude of deities, or spirits, or other entities, representing an aspect of nature or human life. So was paganism which was wiped out thanks to our holy church inquisition.
Also, logically, if there's more than one religion claiming to introduce the real true god and saying different things, one to all of them should be fake.
These religions, christianism, judaism, islam, have brought only dissension and war to the world, via thinking control through fear. And still it does today.
Fuck all religions and those who use them and are used by them for shady purposes.
Let science and TRUTH be our guide!

Take the infamous trolley problem.
Applying artistic guides to the utilitarian perspective offers a solution: run over the five people who are less beautiful than the single one.
However, this still has inadequate explanatory power if the trolley's potential victims are all of average, comparable beauty. This is where I think an additional, objective, consensus measure of value can be injected, weighing by wealth in addition to beauty. If beauty is a value of enjoyment, and money is acquired from producing goods/services that enhance enjoyment, surely it must follow that a rich, beautiful person offers my value to the world than a beautiful, poor one and certainly more than an ugly, poor one.
