Societies and civilizations are large collections of overlapping, intersecting, and interacting institutions. Feudal and Manorial society was a collection of institutions and relationships some of which persist even to this day in many parts of the world.

I just dislike this characterization. What is meant by "Feudalism?" There are a large number of feudal institutions which typify and characterize this concept, that can be present in varying degrees.

It also would have been insufficient. Britain was building planes faster than Germany was, and pilots were the real bottleneck. Bombing airfields stung the RAF, but not nearly enough to pull them out of action, and if the heat got too bad, there was nothing preventing them from pulling up stakes and basing somewhere in the Midlands, sacrificing coverage time over southern England to protect the airfields. What do you do then?
