Would you like to be a medieval monk?
>Would you like to be a heretical papal stooge?
no
>>1684019
There isn't that big of a difference in the cenobitic monastic life of modern ascetics and those of the middle ages desu. No reason to not just be a modern monk.
>>1684019
Were they just medieval /r9k/?
What caused the late Bronze Age collapse? If those civilizations never collapsed would we be more advanced now? How much did that set us back?
>>1684010
they should rename /his/ to basic bitch /bb/
the bronze age collapse was caused by mediterranean piracy, primarily from northern africa and persia, raiding coastal settlements and destroying the tin trade
you can go ahead and delete the thread now
Mainly invasion by the sea peoples mixed with economic failings. But there were probably other factors we may never know.

This is a bait post, but there were actually Australoid populations in the most southern regions of the peninsula
what was Pre-Kantian philosophy and what made his ideas so revolutionary
He gave europe what europe wanted: shitty self-indulgent "philosophy".
Now we have this huge corpse in philosophy's history we can't get rid off.

>The Seikilos epitaph is the oldest surviving example of a complete musical composition, including musical notation, from anywhere in the world. The song, the melody of which is recorded, alongside its lyrics, in the ancient Greek musical notation, was found engraved on a tombstone, near Aidin, Turkey (not far from Ephesus). The find has been dated variously from around 200 BC to around AD 100.
>Also on the tombstone is an indication that states: I am a tombstone, an icon. Seikilos placed me here as an everlasting sign of deathless remembrance.
>While older music with notation exists (for example the Delphic Hymns), all of it is in fragments; the Seikilos epitaph is unique in that it is a complete, though short, composition.

Pros oligon esti to zēn
To telos ho chronos apaitei
While you live, shine
Don't suffer anything at all;
Life exists only a short while
And time demands its toll.

Britain started World War 2

Could any god take on Vishnu? I'm not talking about Matsya Vishnu, or Kurma Vishnu, I'm not even talking about Varaha Vishnu wielding the tusks of Hiranyaksha. I'm not talking about Narasimha Lion Vishnu at dusk in the courtyard, or Vamana Vishnu at full size with Bali and Prahlada. I'm not even talking about Parashurama Vishnu the Brahmin-Kshatriya wielding Shiva's axe with the army of Kartavirya Arjuna and an infinite supply of cows. Hell, I'm not even talking about King-Prince Rama Vishnu after Sita's been kidnapped with an infinite supply of arrows or Krishna Vishnu, son of Devaki and Vasudev, with Balarama support.
I'm talking about Gautama Buddha Vishnu, Gajapati, ascended through ahmisa beyond the Kali Yuga in the form of Kalki, Destroyer of Filth and Antaryamin upon Devadatta, equipped with the blazing sword with all brahmanas gathered. I'm talking about Kalki Vishnu, with complete Jnana activated and full Aishvarya over the Brahman, wielding complete Shakti against dharma and limitless Bala, Virya, and Tejas, with Gambhirya, Audarya, and Karunya, presiding over the Sṛngara rasa and the lesser realms, with complete chakra and access to all three Trimurti. I'm talking about Bhuta Bhavya Bhavatprabhu Vishnu, riding upon Garuda with Lakshmi and Rukmini, Tulsi, and Ganga, Muktanam Parama Gatih and Avyaya, the Purusha and Keshava, bringer of the Jayant, the Purushottama and Bhoota-bhavya-bhavat-prabhuh, muktaanaam paramaa gatih for all men to strive towards. Is there anyone who can beat him?

What does /his/ think of saint veneration?
>>1683486
I think worshipping real people is a step up from worshipping imaginary friends. Unfortunately saints are mostly pussified "men" who enjoy being cuckolded.
>>1683486
Polytheism.
Veneration of the saints is merely a remnant of pagan tradition, embraced in the early Church by the desire to accommodate the Greeks and Romans who were accustomed to their pantheons of gods, demi-gods, hero figures, nature spirits, etc.
Christianity's own theology shows saintly veneration to be absurd: why should one bother with praying to the saints for intercession, when one can simply pray to God directly and avoid the middle-men? If God is perfect and just, why does he impose this celestial nepotism, that humans should relay their prayers to intermediaries rather than to him directly?
Free will people need not apply. This thread asks why soft determinist's are so soft and why they are not hard determinst's. Also is "the Secret" still a thing?
