>From each according to his ability, to each according to his needs
Completely disregarding marx for a second, is there anything wrong with this?
(((oy vey goyim, don't you know opposing capitalism means you're opposing freedumb?)))

And here I thought I could actually have a meme free discussion for just a few posts.
Yes, because if everyone is getting "what he needs", everyone will stop "working to his ability".
If you know you're getting x amount of money every month, why would you work?
The supposed student of Plato and teacher of Alexander the Great doesn't seem to understand basic points in Plato's philosophy and misrepresents Plato all the time.
Aristotle was invented to create a link between Alexander the Great and Plato, as to make Alexander a mythical philosopher king.
-Aristotle's works aren't close to Platonic philosophy or any other work of the Academy
-His works were lost (or ''kept in a cellar'') after his death and only found two hundred years later in 84BC
-In the meantime there are no references to Aristotle's work at all nor does his philosophy seems to have influenced anyone
-Cicero provides a list of the heads of the Academy, so that would be our source for Aristotle existing if not for the following
-Some dude 'Apellicon of Teos' purchased the complete works of Aristotle from the cellar of Neleus (who was supposedly a disciple of Aristotle). Apellicon copied the works and because they were in bad shape filled up the gaps
-Sulla takes it to Rome as part of his great Roman acquisition of Greek heritage (probaly fabricated to make it seem more impressive)
-Tyrannoin of Amisus was told to ''organise'' Apellicon's library
-Tyrannoin was in the same intelectual circle as Cicero
-Cicero made the list up
-Aristotle's works were Roman forgeries, not Greek works
No one willing to prove me wrong?

Whenever I see people criticizing Islam or Jihadists, inevitablely i see people saying "but muh crusades!" So lets talk about the crusades. How bad were they exactly? Everyone makes it out to be the end of the world tier fighting, so what was it like? how many people died etc? How does it compare to the Muslim conquests in Europe, Africa and Asia? Thanks.
>>1731347
Which crusade?
The Albigensian Crusade was particularly bad, akin to a genocide of Cathars. The northern crusades were nasty too, pretty much everyone surrounding the Teutonic Knights hated them, and they killed fellow Christians too.

Given the recent shitposting spree by some /pol/lack I might as well use the opportunity to get a thread going about Nazism. A few questions to /pol/ enthusiasts and history buffs.
Why do some neo-Nazis (I'll use use this as an umbrella term for all of you edgelords) try to sell the idea that Hitler wasn't racist and Nazi Germany wasn't all that bad to non-German folk? It's well documented how they treated Jews, Gypsies, Poles, Russians and Slavs in general. They sometimes post pic related which makes no sense. It's like saying America wasn't racist in the late 19th century because there were visions with black troops.
And how do you reconcile White Supremacy (admittedly it's mostly Americans) with lack of solidarity of Europeans between themselves? It's like niggers identifying as "black" in America, but in Africa they'd tear each other apart because of a funny accent.
And how on earth do you live with the daily cognitive dissonance of crying about "Jewish supremacy" (I'm looking at you, particular shitposter) and how unjust it is, yet being completely fine with the idea of subjugating and eradicating other races? Likewise, you endlessly whine about nigger behavior yet glorify violence.
>haha kristallnacht was so cool! destroying and looting small businesses and synagogues is awesome

>Why do some neo-Nazis (I'll use use this as an umbrella term for all of you edgelords) try to sell the idea that Hitler wasn't racist and Nazi Germany wasn't all that bad to non-German folk?
People like to sanitize Hitler's beliefs so they have less cognitive dissonance to deal with. See homos that support Hitler's ideas about "da j00s" even though they would've been shot under his regime. That or they genuinely believe he was a good boy who dindu nuffin.
Never been able to figure that one out myself, and I hate jews as well. Wish he woulda done the job right. But yea, never understood how one can be an anti-semite, who loves hitler for his racial policies, but try to debunk the holocaust which is what you love about him in the first place.
The oldest Homo sapiens to be found is 200,000 years old, while formal recorded human history spans for amost 6000 years, since Sumerian Mesopotamian 4000 BC, until 0, and now 2016 years, after Christ. People are always spouting off about how Mesopotamia is the cradle of all civilization, but I find that incredibly hard to believe. If that is truly the case, that means there has been a period of almost 200 thousand years where humans have been doing fuck all. I sincerely doubt there isn't at least one yet undiscovered civilization predating ancient Mesopotamia.
Christ wasn't a real person. You might as well try starting your calendar at the birth of Pinocchio.
>>1732096
You know that Pinocchio is clear allegory of Christ, right?
Didn't know that. Mind you, I wasn't very interested in biblical allegory when I was four.

What was the Islamic Golden age and why did it start and end?
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Islamic_golden_age
>The Islamic Golden Age refers to a period in the history of Islam, traditionally dated from the 8th century to the 13th century, during which much of the historically Islamic world was ruled by various caliphates and science, economic development and cultural works flourished.
>This period is traditionally understood to have begun during the reign of the Abbasid caliph Harun al-Rashid (786 to 809) with the inauguration of the House of Wisdom in Baghdad, where scholars from various parts of the world with different cultural backgrounds were mandated to gather and translate all of the world's classical knowledge into the Arabic language.[4][5]
>This period is traditionally said to have ended with the collapse of the Abbasid caliphate due to Mongol invasions and the Sack of Baghdad in 1258 AD.[6] A few contemporary scholars place the end of the Islamic Golden Age as late as the end of 15th to 16th centuries.[1][2][3]
