There's absolutely no way he didn't know what was going on, right?
He certainly must have known they were using Polish slave labor in German factories.
How did he get such a relatively light sentence?
>>1805172
Because some of the judges were under influence of American and German monopolies, who needed people like Speer and Hjalmar Schacht
He lied to Nuremburg, stated that he fully accepted "blame" as a Nazi and said he felt really bad about it despite SOMEHOW not "knowing what happened".
>>1805172
I don't know. Why did they give Hess a life sentence when he was clearly mentally ill?
Why did medieval scribes leave so much empty space on the margins when paper was so expensive?
>>1805169
I mean look at this.
looks cooler
Maybe to allow a person studying these texts to add sidenotes? I've seen this in bibles too, granted those bibles were post printing press so it might be a shit example.

Is it ethical to give strangers cigarettes when they ask for one in passing?
This is maybe a bit redundant but it's been something that bugs me.
>>1805073
It's up too you. I don't see anything wrong with it.
I look at it as, as soon as it leaves my hands its theirs to do whatever with it.
It's not mine anymore. I don't give a shit if he rips up a 5 dollar bill. That would be his loss.
>>1805073
It's unethical not to. What kind of person doesn't share a smoke if they got one?
>>1805081
It just seems from a causal perspective you're not helping the person towards an ethically optimistic goal.
What if the Roman Empire survived?
How would our culture differ?
Would the entirety of the Americas and Australia be under Roman control?
Would we be more or less technologically advanced?
Would Rome have conquered Earth by now?

What are you guys cramming for? How do you think you will do?
I'll start: right now I'm studying for a midterm for my class on Modern Asia. Feeling decent about it, lot of information to go over though. Anybody know anything about the Treaty of Gangwha?
>>1804698
>having to cram
I have a midterm coming up this week for my World History 1500-present course. But history is literally effortless for me, I'll get an A anyways.

islamic history and european history
>>1804698
The Treaty of Gangwha is evidence of Japan learning from Western powers. They used their military might to "break into" Korea. The Koreans, fearing Japanese wrath and superiority, gave in to bad terms.
Although less harsh, the Americans did the same with their so called "black ships" - bracku shippo in Japanese (kidding, yo). The treaty had some odd effects. Koreans could only use Chinese in diplomatic talks - not Japanese like the invaders were using or even their native tongue, Korean. It still somehow got Korea away from Qing China a little, but the Koreans fetl sour about it.
What the fuck was his problem?

It seems like Europe was devastated by losing so many males from two World Wars. France and England in particular. Did the Soviet Union suffer from this too? The Soviets seemed to make their greatest advance during this time.
>>1804582
It's not a coincidence that you see so many soviet propaganda posters with women working in factories. In many cases, there was nobody else to do the job because the men were all dead either because they were fighting in the war or because Stalin killed them.
soviet union always suffer
>>1804607
Communism already treated woman more equally in the work place so were they ahead of the curve on the labor shortage problem?
Did they manage to produce a lot of highly educated people during this time?
Without looking it up, does anyone here know what unit 731 is? I am considering writing about pic related for a writing class, and I want to gauge how commonly known it is.
