I've read from multiple posters on /his/ that, essentially, without ancestral, racial, or ethnic identity, there is no such thing as culture or self-identity.

we dont say he was a socialist
he was a Fascist, someone who tried to offer an alternative to capitalism and socialism, at the worst time possible, after ww2. and he was wrong, he thought WW3 would happen soon.
He was not a Nazi, he didnt have any crazy racial idea and didnt hate Jews. He was like Mussolini, if El Duce had not had Hitler as a neighbour. He also almost didnt kill anybody, apart from one communist who died from police brutality.
Peronism had:
-Corporativism (even nowadays Argentina has the strongest unions in the Americas, they are all peronist, and often have make life impossible for non peronist governments)
-cult of personality with hymns dedicated to the leader, and during the first peronism, there were provinces and cities named after Peron and Eva Peron.
-Great welfare system, from new rights for workers, paid vacations, state owned hotels for workers to go to the beach, to simple clientelism like women writing letters to eva Peron and getting jobs, houses or sewing machines as gifts.
-near one state party status, through jerrymandering
-control of the press, by not giving paper for printing to newspapers who opposed the government (they often had as few as 5 pages). and control of the radio, the only radio that opposed the government was located in Uruguay.
he was a very soft dictator, and half of Argentina loved him, the other half hated him and saw him as a tyrant.
His problem was trying to make the Catholic Church submit to him, the military, that was super catholic, toppled him.
The big problem of Argentina is that from 1955 to 1973, the biggest political party of the country wasnt very democratic at all, and was outlawed. There were elections in which blank protest votes were the most voted choice. So, the other democratic parties had no legitimacy, since they couldnt beat the peronists in elections. That finally happened in 1983 after the falklands war when democracy returned and the military junta was put on trial.
