> My God, my God, why have you forsaken me?
What did he mean be that?
He was just talking to himself
He was reciting Psalms 22

Can it be said of any nation in history that "They loved war and never were destroyed by war"
>>1850770
America? England? Austria? Sweden?
Austria?
>>1850773
Not sure you can say that about England considering how much their empire has been destroyed thanks to WWII
Maria Theresa of Austria was uncomfortably hot at age 11

It's because her abdomen is tightly compressed, giving her an hourglass figure. Her guts are suffering though.

Was he considered handsome in his time?
His contemporaries described him as gaunt (this was before he got fat) and sickly looking, with waxy skin. He wasn't unattractive but he looked frail and unhealthy.
I think he's handsome now

Why attempts to create unified Central American State failed seven times?
Shit, I had no idea they tried. That would be a very interesting state. Where do you think they would stand on the world stage today?
>>1850030
Same place they stand now
Second last

The colonial institutions and administrative divisions set up by the Spanish weren't conducive to creating a centralized state.

Erdogans turkey has through kemalist republicanism out of the window. And the west sees in his legacy the Armenian,Assyrian and Pontiac genocide.
His legacy is in ashes.
What is the modern day American opinion of the Korean war, other than:
>"We used to stack fucks like you five feet high in Korea, use you for sandbags"
Seriously, do people even talk about it at all? Do they see it as a mistake, or what?

I lived for a short time in the US, and its really glossed over in comparison to WWII or Vietnam
The impression I got (I had a book on every war the US fought up to Iraq/Afghanistan), in American fashion, they 'won' because the gommies got pushed back from their position around the Pusan Perimeter, and a free Korean Republic based in Seoul was guaranteed

We don't talk about our wars unless we fought other aglos at some point.
In fact i'm pretty sure we don't even consider them wars, just our economy running on schedule.
its overshadowed by Vietnam but the general opinion is that it was a successful defense against communism that secured the existence of south korea, even though they weren't actually free at the time. So in that regard its another example of us supporting a crappy dictatorship because hey atleast they aren't commies, but atleast things turned out mostly ok in the long run for the south. This is in contrast to Vietnam which was an unsuccessful defense against communism.
Also worth mentioning is Truman's rejection of Macarthur's plan to use nuclear weapons against north korea, china, and russia. This action, and Truman's desire to keep the war limited in scope rather than pushing for unconditional surrender of the communists probably prevented ww3.
What were some of the weapons used during the Finno-Korean Hyperwar?
The Hwangook Imperial Mass Autism Array was pivotal in the war for stopping the Finnish onslaught towards Pyongyang.

Effects of the usage of the Mass Autism Array can still be observed very clearly in Finland today.
Have you heard anything about the theory that Jesus went to India during his unknown years and studied Buddhism?
Apparently there is an 18 year period of time in Jesus's life where his actions are completely unaccounted for in the bible. Some claim he went to go learn Buddhism before developing his ministry.
Sounds cool but I don't know what to think about it.
>>1849661
The latest reported thing before starting his ministry at 30 years old was arguing the law with the rabbis, which I think happened when he was 12 or so. Hence the gap.
He wasn't a Buddhist, he was having on an emotional roadtrip with his hipster friends.
Quotes from this trip include "The road is as open as your mind" and "The hardest part of climing a mountain is the way down"
This roadtrip was due to be turned into an indie film, but it turned out to be too deep for the director, Paul
>Carpenter from Judea in the 1st century could afford to go to India

Why did Turkey get so much land, particularly eastern Thrace, when it was clearly Greek majority?
>>1849648
Balkan wars caused mass migrations of Turks and local converts to Islam from across the Balkans to move back to Anatolia.
>>1849648
Why did Macedonia get so much land, particularly all of it, when it was clearly Bulgarian majority?
I often hear people complaining about how historical movies make their protagonists more 'moral' by modern standards to appeal to a modern audience. Also that such people wouldn't pass muster as being "good people" by modern standards, even if they would be considered such at the time. So I have a question for /his/: what pre-20th century historical figure could be made a genuine hero of a movie or TV show or whatever, without blatantly white washing them? What historically significant person qualifies as a good person by 21st century standards?
Pic related is the closest I've found.

Say the Axis powers won WW2 and liberated Egypt from British rule. What would Egypt look like today? Would they have gained control of Egypt, and if so what would an Axis controlled Egypt look like?
Hitler had some very positive views on Islam and Arabs.
Basically not very different from what it is today but no Israel to mess with the balance.
>>1849477
didn't Hitler consider Iranians to be Aryan?
>>1849477
modern day neo nazis seem to forget that lol
but ya Hitler believed Christianity had become to soft and that Islam matched much closer to the world he wanted to create
interesting considering that according to the nazi creed arabs were just as low as jews
