Is there any hope in the Ottomans making a come back and destroying Saudi Arabia and their "Islamic" terrorism?
One can only hope.
>>1915348
No, infact, Erdogan is turning his country into Saudi Arabia.
>>1915358
>Saudi Arabia will never foolishly start a war with Israel where the entirety of the West curb stomps them and Israeli commandos desecrate the Majid Al-Haram
Recently I was watching this movie about the 2nd Sino - Japanese war. Which made me wonder, how did the Chinese and Japanese communicate? I couldn't imagine very many people being able to speak both languages.
>>1915131
>how did the Chinese and Japanese communicate?
With violence, a lot of it.
>>1915131
Sure they did. Most educated Chinese people were educated in Japan, and plenty of people in Japan were trained in Chinese as was Japanese tradition.
Just small question from me to you.
Why it's called Sino - Japanese war and not Chinese - Japanese war. The hell does "Sino" stand for
What the hell convinced them to go through with this? I mean sure it worked out looking back to it, but what about at the time?
Rebelling against the British Empire seems like it would have been suicide. People like Washington and Madison and Franklin are celebrated now, but it was highly likely that their rebellion would've been put down, they would be hanged, and their names never mentioned again outside of a blurb on "those guys that tried to rebel once"
It just seems like an enormous risk with a very low chance of succeeding. I'm not asking how or why they actually succeeded, but rather, why they thought this was a good idea in the first place.
I would've hopped on the next ship to England instead of hanging around with these crazies.

The founding fathers were the upper class of the colonies and they wanted the wealth the colonies produced. Invited the people to fight for freedom and boom

My father bought an encyclopedia set published in 1963 in the mid 90s at a flea shop. They're still in pretty good condition other than having that old book smell.
Are they worth anything?
/who read old encyclopedias for keks here/?
>>1915036
They can show you the World view of someone in the 60s, which can be pretty interresting.
>>1915036
I have a habit of reading gross medical encyclopedias for things like neurosurgery and such.
>>1915036
Your father bought it in the mid 90s?
Strange to talk about it now.
Would a TV show about Socrates be any good? What about Plato?
>>1914993
One about Plato. Since most of what we know about Socrates is from Plato.
Also have Diogenes be a main recurring character/foil.
>it's a Socrates gets bullied by sophists episode
Sure, but if you're thinking about doing one you should get many source to make it good. Plain philosophy would be boring, but overusing their stories to make something with pure action would break the real interest of the serie. Basically, have a professeur help you understand their ideas, then only have some people who know their biographies to give your story some shape.
>>1915022
I would have a fucking episode of that, Socrates rekt their logic
also it is said that socrates was ugly and that they had relations with teenagers, put that shit in the serie to keep up with GOT
Whats the most boring century?
Pic related
Probably the 162th century BC
>>1914982
The 7th-10th centuries were all shit. The only noteworthy things about that time were barbarians, norsememes and mudslimes raping, looting and killing.

Catalans use it to pretend they're relevant, despite the fact that the Crown was *gasp* Aragonese.

>Hitler's leadership style was to give contradictory orders to subordinates and to place them into positions where their duties and responsibilities overlapped with those of others. In this way, Hitler fostered distrust, competition, and infighting among his subordinates to consolidate and maximise his own power. His cabinet never met after 1938, and he discouraged his ministers from meeting independently.[202][203] Hitler typically did not issue written orders, but gave them orally at meetings or in phone conversations; he also had Bormann convey orders.[204] Bormann used his position to control the flow of information and access to Hitler,[205] earning him enemies, including Himmler.
Wow, hitler was literally no different to the supposed jews he was talking about

Abraham Lincoln suffered from suicidal depression and wrote about that in his diaries.
Oliver Cromwell also suffered a protracted crisis in his 20s and was treated for depression ("melancholia" back then)

Why and how did Egypt becomes a shithole? Nowadays Egypt is nothing more than a rotten shithole.
I know Egypt started its decadence at the end of the middle Empire, can you tell me more about it?
