Can anyone explain each part of Holy Roman Empire by their specialties or what they are known for the most?
For example, Prussia is known for their military.

This is the most important road in Laos, historically and in the present day, route 13.
Wikipedia:
>Route 13 is the most important highway in the country of Laos.
>It begins at Boten in the North of Laos at the Chinese border. It connects the city of Vientiane to Luang Prabang in the north and roughly follows the line of the Mekong River down to the border with Cambodia.
>mostly paved
>though the pavement is in poor condition at places
>relatively narrow, with sharp curves
>There are no markings or lighting on the road
what is your point?
Why is it the most historically important one?
It's hardly like the Persian Emperors Road

That's the second Laos bashing thread I see. Who the fuck are you and why do you think we give a shit about Laos?
Any genuine Jesusaboos here?
I know plenty of meme/larp christians here have a hard-on for the crusaders, templars, byzantine empire and so on but what about the historical jesus himself.
i.e. cutting through the crap, recognizing the human fallibility of the gospels and trying to get an understanding of the character and culture of Jesus and the time he lived.

History is not absolute truth like what the gospels are. Any other source on Jesus his life or Persona would be heretical and would be shaped by the narrative of the current zeitgeist.
Stop trying to modernize an Eternal Divine Being, retard.
actually, what is fascism? i only hear it said as a synonym to Nazism, or just racism in anything.
What is actual fascism?
Please tell me the history of fascism.
Fascism is an authoritarian and nationalistic rule which also seeks to change the culture of the nation through the concept of 'rebirth' as seen in Nazi Germany and Italy.
>>3288584
it's also capitalist. hence why you can't consider socialist movements to be fascist
Fascism is a middle class ideology.
Mainstream anarchism isn't even an absence of government or states. Its just a voluntarist, demotist, and heavily decentralized form of government.
Even if it were to be applied, it would be so flimsy and unable to defend itself that it would fall apart to the nearest warlord.
Watch Mad Max. That's anarchy for ya
>>3288253
Ancom and Ancap produce the same result, chaos and the strong stepping on the weak. Difference is that ancom relies on delusions while ancap is at least more honest about it.
>>3288253
Well the voluntarist principles could be promoted by social democrats to be applied within the existing sociopolitical framework.
Mainly due to their historical and cultural signifigance as an ancient Empire/Kingdom in shaping a region into what it is today but out of misfortune fell out of history and should be allowed to return like the State of Israel did with the help of Global representatives.
Startig with an obvious one.

Is it wrong to judge people from the past through the lens of the present?
Is it wrong to punish a child from the lens of an adult?
Is it wrong to punish a dead child through the lens of an adult 200 years later?
Or is it simply moronic

How is this even a fair comparison? Are you retarded?

>Is it wrong to judge people from the past through the lens of the present?
YES; EQUALLY REPREHENSIBLE AS JUDGING THE PRESENT VIA PAST STANDARDS.
ONE SHOULD JUDGE BASED ON UNIVERSAL AND ABSOLUTE STANDARDS.
>Is it wrong to punish a child from the lens of an adult?
PUNISHING CHILDREN IS ABOMINABLE, REGARDLESS OF WHATEVER RATIONALIZATIONS; CHILDREN SHOULD BE GUIDED, TAUGHT, AND LOVED.
Did anything interesting happen prior to 800 BC? It seems like that's when things really got rolling.

Why do you guys think the renaissance started in the Italian city-states?
>>3287900
>mfw it was a profession in Renaissance Italy to pull apart Chinese silk imports thread by thread so they could be remade in Italy

>>mfw we still say 'medicine' after the Medici family
wrong. medici and medicine come from the same latin word "medicus", which means doctor. it's likely that the medici descended (in the distant past before they gained any clout in Florence) from some doctors or apothecaries, hence the "pills" that are in their family crest.
>>3287991
D'oh. Thanks for correcting me if you're right. I will look it up, though.
The silk thing is for real and weird, though.
I heard that at some point stalin thought his people would turn on him in order to surrender to germany or something. had that or some other massive soviet fuckup happened and effectively knocked them out of the war, what would germany's position have been? how much area in russia/europe would they actually have been able to hold, and for how long? did they have means to actually govern things or would areas have just descended into anarchy?
Yeah I read something similar about how in the early weeks of Barbarossa Stalin locked himself in his study fully expecting the central committee to storm it and execute him for allowing Germany to invade.
>>3287850
With a pacified Russia, Germany could focus entirely on the West. I assume an invasion of Britain or it's ME colonies would ensue.
As for Russia, Germany would probably replace communist leadership with anti-communist nazi-sympathizers. This is exactly what happened in Ukraine, France, etc. I guess out of this a Russian resistance movement would emerge, but it would not be that popular considering literally no one liked Stalin.
>>3288089
>As for Russia, Germany would probably replace communist leadership with anti-communist nazi-sympathizers
there would be no russian government, half of the population would be killed and other half worked to death
https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/German–Soviet_Axis_talks
I always found this very interesting. There's no doubt that Molotov was very serious about his proposals for the Soviet Union to enter the Axis as a fourth power. If it had happened, there would have been one gigantic alliance from Tokyo to Rome, and with Germany's technology and Russia's huge natural resources/mineral wealth, it would have been virtually unstoppable.
Britain would have had to sue for peace as it would have virtually had no chance in 1941 with both Germany and Russia allied against it.
The question is how tenable would such an ideology have become? Both Germany and Russia wanted to expand. Russia could have expanded to the south and expanded its sphere of influence to Iran and Iraq. Russia could have handed over Baltic states, but as they were aggressively demanding parts of Romania, the Bosphorus, and German withdrawal from Finland, I doubt this would have happened.
But where does this leave Germany? Hitler's political capital rested on him presenting himself as a bulwark against communism, how would that affect his image to his people if he essentially became an ally of the Soviet Union? I think he would have been much stronger but it would have hurt his local political image at home amongst the German populace.
>>3287797
It wouldn't. His whole ideology centered around using Russia as lebensraum. They only allied to by off time while Germany fought France and the UK.
>>3287811
It wasn't so much specifically "Russia" as the "east" that he wanted as lebensraaum. He had Poland, he could have negotiated an alliance with a Russian nation state that still allowed him to colonise eastern territories such as the baltics or parts of Ukraine/Belarus, in exchange for Russia expanding its influence elsewhere.
Nothing in hitlers ideology specifically mandating erasing Russia specifically. In fact he even created a "Russian Liberation Army" with the goal of creating a Russian puppet state in soviet territory after winning the war
>>3287797
Not that unthinkable considering they were already so alike and their partnership from 1939-41 was rather close. But it had to end sooner or later. Both had bigger plans and Europe was too small for them. Now that sounded cheesy but it's true.

When humans leave Earth far behind and settle in other solar systems, will the history of Earth cease to matter?
>>3287770
In my absurd fantasy future, humanity totally leaves earth for off-world colonies and earth is left mostly uninhabited as a massive wildlife preserve. It won't happen though. The truth is that we're stuck on this planet and we're slowly poisoning everything on it to death, including ourselves, and there is no escape.
>>3287770
imo, depends on how exactly we end up settling in other solar systems. Does one civilization finally end up conquering everything else, unifying the Earth as a planet and only then journey into the stars? Does it become a free for all as countries scramble to fund their own solar system colonialism efforts? I think if its the latter, history will definitely come into play as countries use colonizing the stars to promote their nationalism through the roof as they become debatably the most important nation in history.

Does the history of England matter to Americans? What about England's history to Canada or Australia whom have much stronger ties.
