Large-scale planetary expansion
Fuck all the wellfare shit, we get by already, we need to focus on the neglected issues, like making humanity a space-faring race.
Does the Aeneid provide any insight into pre-Roman Italic culture or was Virgil bullshitting?
>>3282228
Personally I think it's pretty bullshit, serving mainly to raise the prestige of Augustus, but the tale of Romans being descended from Anatolian Trojans is interesting. It possibly lends credence to the theory that the Etruscans, whom the Romans got a number of cultural aspects from, originated from Anatolia. I think it serves as an allegory to the Etruscans and their influence on Rome.

Every sign points to it but no one on 4chan is prepared to face that truth
Myth. His version of Pre-Roman Latinium basically lines up with Roman legend, as Evander is a key character, and he's the guy the Romans believed introduced the Gods to Italy.
He may have taken some tribal names from known Italic tribes, and possibly some mythic figures
So I plan of doing a bunch of artwork based on historical military units and I need ideas. I was thinking about doing them as giant playing cards so I you want to put what card number they should be that would be great! The only unit I know I will be doing are the great polish hussars but I still need a card number.
Hussars = King
do vikings, pikemen, American minutemen
>>3282146
Ace=Horse archers (mongols)
King=imperial old guard
queen=some kind of wwi infantryman, of a country of your chossing (queen of the battlefield)
jack=knights/hussars
10=roman legionarii
9=landsknechte
8=immortals (see what I did there?)
7=jaguar warrior
6=highland warrior
5=zulu
4=samurai
3=tercio
2=jannisary
What are some good reads on the British army in the Second World War?
"The Great British Victory at Singapore" by Lindybeige
>>3282116
You can read Churchill's books if you want an increadibly biased version. Osprey has some good introduction books on troops in the desert, far east and paratroopers in the Warrior series. Might be worthwhile looking at the Imperial War Museum's giftshop website and picking out ones you like the look of.
I'm currently reading "Love, Tommy" which is transcribed soldiers letters home.
>>3282187
Though come to think of it, the National Army Museum might be a better choice, as IWM seems to be full of replica ration books for kids.
If I'm attending with a friend in their church different from my own just to observe, is it morally acceptable for me to still eat the bread if it's unleavened?

I went to a church service recently and I'm an atheist. I didn't take communion.

No, you will go to hell if you do that heretic.
what the fuck was the point of this bloody thing? it was an overengineered piece of crap that nobody needed.
>let's put all the crew in the turret!
>let's make the main cannon be able to fire shitty chilli missiles
>fuck it, make it 50 tons!!!
Interesting fact OP. The original tank, called Mother, was a male tank. Early on the designers realised that a heavy tank with one turret was vulnerable to being attacked by swarms of men who could throw a grenade in. So they designed a accompany the large gunned male tank. The female tank would have machine guns to repel infantry.
Modern tanks are hermaphrodites, with heavy guns and machine guns.
>>3282068
Sorry, that should say they designed a female tank to accompany the male.
Iirc the early male tanks had more than one gun but they were slow firing and still vulnerable to infantry swarms.

I want to really understand National Socialism, but I find it difficult to get started
I ordered Mein Kampf and intend to read it, but is there some other work that can act as a theoretical foundation for the ideology?
I know it doesn't have the academic spheres of Marxism, so it's difficult to grasp
and wikipedia is very confusing to read, they mix up the actual ideology with the actions of the NSDAP (Nazi Party in Germany) and the action of the German forces (Wehrmact, SS, etc)
but are these the same?
can we separate out the actual ideology from the actions of Germany?
>>3281916
There was no real core unifier to the cause except anti-semitism. It wasn't economic as you can see from the differences between Hitler and Strasser.
>>3281916
Hitler National Socialism was a copycat of Italian fascism with focus in anti semitism and mystical racial bullshit

What's with serial killers and fucked up childhoods?
Like, I can hardly find any that had a somewhat normal life growing up. Ted Bundy's one of the few that I would put in this category, but even then you'd have to stretch the criteria by a quite a bit. But holy crap, some of the shit these killers grew up with, the conditions they lived under, escapes words. And make them come off as more tragic figures than straight up villains.
And coming from someone who had to intern at a mental ward for a couple years, people with abysmal childhoods rarely go to these extremes. Even committing crimes in general isn't as common as you would think. At worst, they'll have a few arrests for minor offenses, and decide they're not worth the trouble. Other than that, the more realistic scenario is that they grow up to be emotionally stunted adults who have trouble developing close relationships with people (think /r9k/).
>>3281845
I'm curious as to the source of this.
Wow fucked up kids are more likely to be fucked up adults shocker

What contributions did they give to humanity? And if you can't provide a proper response why do we still accept their existence?
99% of humanity then should have killed themselves
>why do we still accept their existence
Because who the fuck cares? I bet you don't contribute to society in a significant way, why do we allow your continued existence?
>>3281757
Did they do any harm to humanity or something? They look pretty irrelevant to me. Leave them alone.
What the fuck were they thinking?
>>3281386
The feared the African warrior.
probably didn't help that the consuls were killed in the cavalry fighting early on and as such there was little ability to co-ordinate. Also the only romans to survive at Trebia and Trasimine were those who powered through the weak Carthaginian center encouraging the Romans to further stack the center.
>>3281386
They didn't fight in their traditional maniple formation but decided to power through with their numbers alone.
