Did all humans have these until the postmodern era?
Nah, we didn't discover spaghetti until around the 12th century
In short, if all the matter in the universe except the nematodes were swept away, our world would still be dimly recognizable, and if, as disembodied spirits, we could then investigate it, we should find its mountains, hills, vales, rivers, lakes, and oceans represented by a film of nematodes. The location of towns would be decipherable, since for every massing of human beings there would be a corresponding massing of certain nematodes. Trees would still stand in ghostly rows representing our streets and highways. The location of the various plants and animals would still be decipherable, and, had we sufficient knowledge, in many cases even their species could be determined by an examination of their erstwhile nematode parasites.

Does the industrial way of life lead to the industrial way of death?
>>2032220
Wait until we see a first world genocide this century
>>2032220
It's more a product of modernity than industrialization, really. Obviously industrialization does give us the tools to achieve our goals on a large scale so it's easy to pin the blame on it, but it's not directly responsible for our entire worldview.
>>2032230
How does modernity affect this?
>The Democrats appointed this fucking idiot as their presidential candidate against Lincoln in the 1864 election
Absolute madmen
Well I mean, he came pretty close.

>anatomically modern humans (homo sapiens) evolve about 200,000 years ago
>about 100,000 years ago they begin to migrate out of africa
>then suddenly a few thousand years ago civilizations spring up everywhere (america, africa, middle east, india, asia) at roughly the exact same time
what caused this?
Reptilians came down from the skies and fed brain nourishing food to the ape people. They stuck around for a bit making sure they got the basics down in Sumeria. Then they bounced.
It's literally in the Bible.

its funny, im sure people want to know the answer and it seems mysterious from our view but if we had all the information then im sure it can be predictable and explicable, only its impossible to find out all of it (pretty much) so we always going to be left by these miraculous coincidences.
i'd also say, "spring up" is always going to be a bad description and these dates are all different on the map (maybe you can get new dates).
What are some early examples of the "stingy jew" stereotype?
>>2031847
There's Fagin from Oliver Twist, if you consider that early. Then there's also the literal medieval court Jews or, I'm not joking here, the Sheckler.

Where do they come from and what do they do?
they have a pretty cool flag, but what does it mean?
Also, a song i stumbled upon in my discord group (which became the cause of this thread)

They sound very alien to me, and the music sounds medieval but european, almost irish.
They were probably thracians remains who were pushed there

this doesn't make sense culturally, the thracians were a plains horse people, the albanians are mountainous people with little to no horse culture.
Albanians are the worst people
What is qualia? Does it exist?
>>2031666
>666
Wew lad.
But why wouldn't it exist? Qualia is just senses, right?
>>2031666
Qualia are literally the only things we can all be sure exist. I'd disbelieve in everything else before I disbelieved in them.
>>2031666
No, qualia are a figment of how our brains construct reality. Take color for instance, people think it's "just" wavelengths but in fact the same wavelength of light can appear as different colors depending on the situation. The "qualia" of color is something our brains add to the images we see, if you were to lose the ability to see colors, the world wouldn't just be black and white, it would be utterly bewildering.
How did the Nazis, and Hitler in particular, reconcile the more fantastic aspects of their ideology with the reality of the world around them?
Did they care at all? Did they even recognize the contradictions?
>>2031556
Ideology doesn't block you from seeing "reality", it changes reality itself.
Also the core element of the nazi ideology is The Jew and The Jew can take every form. Is he poor and uneducated? -> Ostjude. Is he rich and powerful? -> Stadtjude. Is he something else? -> Well he is just pretending to be something else, you know how Jews are.
Also you gotta me more specific. As for the soldiers on the Ostfront for example: We don't really know. Research on their diaries has only just begun.

Is it true tribal hunter gatherer societies were generally more healthy and good looking than their civilized counter parts or is it just revisionist bullshit?
Pic related polynesian mom, pretty good looking
>>2031511
"Good looking" stems more from the genes of people associated, than from living in a hut or a tenement.
I'd say the tribes were healthier overall, than agrarian or industrial societies, which lived almost exclusively on grains, legumes and hardy vegetables, whereas a hunter-gatherer would have a far more diverse diet.
In general it was true before the modern era. Agricultural societies "won" because they could grow faster and support higher populations, not because individuals would be better off. In modern times, however, we've greatly surpassed the advantages of H-G living.
>>2031511
Nah. It's all highly contextual.
Here in Australia, the Aborigines who didn't live in the godforsaken barren areas of the continent were all ripped. Abomode basically. While their counterparts in the Outback were malnutritioned pieces of shit.
Ciggies, petrol, and modern diets have all turned them into fat slobs. Shame.
Do you know any interesting cases of identity theft that succeeded?
History is written by the victors, but are there cases where the fraud was discovered long after the fact?
Constantine was held as the pinnacle of kingly virtue throughout the Middle Ages. It wasn't until the 14th century that scholars began finding out he was actually a bit of an opportunistic cunt.
But the again, which Roman Emperor didn't fill his life will all sorts of douchey, backstabbing acts?

I know we don't usually talk about the effect the Catholic Church had on Western Civilization, but it there more truth to the idea that the west's true "age of reason" was from the 4th-17th centuries?
I've been reading historians like Rodney Stark, and I'm thoroughly convinced that life was a million times better in the middle ages than it was in the Roman Empire. I'm also starting to suspect that even though the medievals weren't as "technologically advanced" as moderns are, they still greatly exceeded us in morality and wisdom.
I'm looking for more books that prove that Europe was at its peak in enlightenment under the guidance of the One, Holy, Catholic, and Apostolic Church.
