What were the differences between the West and East Germanics and that of the North Germanics (Norse) in religion?
I understand the main deities are the same, spelled differently (Tiw/Tyr, Wodan/Óðinn, Thunor/Þórr) but some have rather key deities that others did not, (Fenrir was notably absent from Anglo-Saxon paganism from what i can tell), and East Germanics like Goths seemed to have the closest culture to that of the Common Germanic period be can observe.

What were the definite differences between them in theology?

It's impossible to say, we have a substantial amount of myths from the Norse religion but nothing on their theology or rituals. In West Germanic we know little more than the names of the most important deities, and virtually nothing in East Germanic.

If Ba'athism had succeeded back in the day and the Arab world had united, Israel and America would exist today and the world would have been much better off.

Baathism was a mistake that replaced the more kingdoms through violent revolutions. Notice how Jordan for example didn't have a Baath ruler and they don't have a collapsing country right now.

African history isn't.

It has spawned several major religions, held an indecipherable ancient society (Indus Valley), is luxury rich, part of the silk road, has an interesting amount of dynasties and empires, is believed to be the second place homo sapiens spread to out of Africa and has a strong literary tradition including the first sex manual.

And yet it's still a modern day shit hole.

by slimming down the diameter of the body, doing away with the dangerous practice of flammable gas, adding wings for lift, and giving it more powerful engines

Make it even more hipster. Draw some cool tattoos and beards on the skin and have speakers play Tame Impala on take off. There's still a chance this plan might fail for not being sufficiently underground.
>>

Airships are already making a comeback, actually. Particularly for scientific expeditions. Give it 20 years and i could see them as a budget alternative to airplanes.

Because they didn't have the "spread the good news" and "instruct the ignorant" Christian ethic the west did. When Chinese discovered something, they would hide it and take it to their graves (or pass it down only to their most favorite pupil).

Can anyone recommend a comprehensive book on the history of Ancient Egypt that would cover all 3 milenia from the 1st dynasty to the Ptolemaic era? I'm looking for something that covers everything from politics, art, religion to day to day life.

Pic kind of related.

While I disagree on the propaganda purposes, I don't think this move is any wrong. After all Japan seized Manchuria, which is literally part of China now. Maybe they should cover the war on two phases, the Manchuria phase, and the total war phase.
> t. 50 cent

>>2207601
Manchuria was an annexation. There was like one battle and the chinese lost and that was that.

I wonder if the chinese even teach the nuances of Imperial Japanese rule or if its all Goldhagen tier rubbish.

It's shit like this that makes me genuinely scared of what can happen with the recent 'sale' of the Internet to places like China who love to hide and distort information.

No. Most of these overseas communities despise the PRC due to their destruction of traditional Chinese culture.
>>
Outside of Asia, the PRC is looked at unfavourably. Within Asia, the Chinese have been a hated minority outside of China, so naturally a lot of folks threw in their lot with their local communist parties.

This is a little harsh. They were so sort of the Celtic equivalent of the proto-Brahmin caste. A group of highly influential priest who dictate society.

I'm a non-denominational Christian raised in a Protestant (Lutheran) church. As I've grown and come to terms with my own faith, I've started to see immense value in the theology of the Catholic (specifically the Orthodox Catholic) church.

I have a simple question: is it possible for somebody to join the Orthodox (or even Roman) Catholic church while rejecting certain dogmas? The things of God that have been revealed to me resonate extraordinarily with the "meat" of the Orthodox theology, but there are some aspects (e.g. veneration of icons, the practice of "asking" intercession by saints) that I 100% cannot in good conscience contribute to given what I have learned thus far from my relationship with God.

>All this quibbling and nit-picking.

Anon, you want to convert to Judaism. Then you can haggle with God and your sect to your heart's content.
>>
>>2206843
>my relationship with God

Top kek! As a layman in true Orthodoxy/traditional catholicism you as a mere layperson have no "relationship" with God! Your only relationship with him is as a person kneeling down before a vast throne
>>
>>2206851

I don't want to haggle, and I'm not trying to nit-pick. I am struggling for the sake of my salvation, hoping to discern what steps God is showing me.

I can accept the sincerity and truth behind the core of Orthodox Christianity; I am only wondering if I am able to abstain from those practices which contradict what understanding has been shown to me. (I of course accept that this understanding that I have may be incomplete, but I currently can't discern anything from God speaking to tell me that these practices are permissible, and so I couldn't take part without violating my Christian conscience.)
