Is the illuminati real? Is there anywhere in history showing they are still real?
yes
t. illuminati
>>2288760
They mostly only do charity work now. It's not some big evil organization in the shadows like the mainstream media such as infowars would have you believe.

Tell me about Buffalo Soldiers
They were fighting on arrival
And fighting for survival thats all I know
They were soldiers from Buffalo
A lot of them became cowboys when they retired.
Will we ever run out of art ideas? Is there a finite amount of art to be discovered? Things like color and sound are finite, aren't they? Given long enough time, won't we run out of them? This short story illustrates my point
http://www.spiderrobinson.com/melancholyelephants2.html
You are implying here that any person is capable of viewing all art in a lifetime.
Art is lost.
Art is forgotten.
Art is denounced, and centuries later praised.
This thread and all evidence of it will disappear in 10 years.
Ordinary farmhand Gregory Manning's oil paintings will become damp, mold over, and become destroyed, and every one of the friends who saw them will die leaving no trace behind of Greg's artistic achievement
Explain how would we "run out" of art
>>2286036
In the future art will be much more easily preserved. You are a fool for trying to refute that.

How does one find meaning in the world without religion?
>>2285667
by praising kek
>>2285667
Make your own meaning. There is no inherent meaning to the world. Find a purpose in science, or art, or business, or whatever, and seek meaning in that.
Religion doesn't impart meaning, it just imparts ignorance and superstition.
By thinking for yourself.
Indian history seems very interesting to me.
Is there any other country which has had so many different religions and groups be in charge over time?
No tired memes, please. I actually want to talk about their history.
>>2284976
>Is there any other country which has had so many different religions and groups be in charge over time?
The Balkan countries.
>>2284976
India's more like a continent (if Europe is one, then so is India) which was only unified under British rule, and even then not really. Before that it had never been unified, and even the partial unifications under the Mauryans and Mughals were brief and contested. The number of different groups in power isn't really that surprising when you think of it as a continent/sub-continent instead of a country.
>>2284976
History of India written by non indic people mainly Europeans at the hight of race wars and every one of them projected their own theories. Indic people did not care about history. I mean to say you won't get real history.
Who's your favorite U.S president, /his/?

TR, seems he'd be cool to hang out with.
Lincoln is the cliche answer, but still the correct one.
Why are there so many asian countries still mad at Japan because of ww2 ? I don't think many europeans hate Germans now, but Chinese and Koreans are always complaining about it.
>>2282430
Because they are little fags
Never 4get
>>2282430
Depends on who we're talking about.
If we're talking PRC, they have both an ideological and economic reason to keep those wounds feeling fresh and raw. Japan is a geopolitical competitor, they would be fools to not keep taking all the shots they can at them, cheap or not.
Also, countries DO still hate Germany. They leverage the past in a rhetorical way any time Germany does something they don't like. Hell, Israel's managed to wrangle war materiel out of them with that trick.
Damn why do i find Central Asia so comfy? There's something about the architecture the people their culture, the amazing blend between nomadic and settled peoples, the thousands of years of rich history that just draws me into the place.
I'm considering visiting/doing a backpacking trip through the region some day, and the sheer vastness of the place and it's many different cultures just keeps calling me.
Also general thread for discussing anything Silk Road/ Central Asia related.
>>2268055
It seems really neat to me too.
I wish I could say more, tho. Sorry I cannot contribute, but hey enjoy teh free bump :)
Backpacking through Western Europe alone gave me anxiety attacks because I'm a pathetic autist I can't even imagine doing Central Asia good luck OP.

How useful was the French resistance in WWII?
>>2292031
It only was after the war ended since everybody could claim not to have collaborated.
They did a good job cleaning themselves up after war and shaving women's hair for allegedly sleeping with Germans.
>>2292052
>allegedly sleeping with Germans.
Is God real?
No, but Bane is.
Yes, obviously.
Why does everything exist? The only explanation is that Jesus is Lord, and he's physically present in the Eucharist.
I don't know.
>tfw no Mel Gibson movie about Joan of Arc, the Boer Wars, the Battle of Isandlwana, Dresden Bombing, the Amritsar massacre, the Mau Mau Uprising, the 1812 Massacre of Badajoz and the Great Potato Famine
Braveheart and The Patriot were so good, why did he stop?
He didn't direct The Patriot.
>>2291373
Lol no, Braveheart was shitty with historical inaccuracies and I haven't watched the Patriot.
He only creates these movies as violent thriller, no historical detail is paid any attention really.
>>2291384
Shit as it may be, the success of Braveheart is responsible for the revival of the historical epic as a genre.

I pray thee bear my former answer back: bid them achieve me and then sell my bones. God's God! Why should they mock poor old Uncle Sam thus?!
Let me speak proudly: tell the other Yuropoors, we are but patriots of the working day, our liberties and our freedumbs are all besmirched with rainy posts in the painful threads. But by the mass, our hearts are in the trim!
Yuropoors, save thou thy faggoty, come now no more for taunts, gentle Yuropoors. Thou shalt have none from us, I swear, but these our JOINTS.
Which if you have, shall yield you, little.
Tell the others.
Who was the Zodiac killer?

Why the islamic world failed to modernize like Japan ? It's truly weird to see islam has somwhat regressed on many subjects. In the 50s, Nasser would make fun of those who wanted to force all muslim women to wear the veil. What happened ?

>>2288420
arab nationalism is a bigger failure than islamism and the west poured a bunch of money into radical groups in afghanistan in the 80's
Japan relied on it's very robust reformations of the military to secure its interests. Arab armies never had such armies and fared increasingly poorly.
