Hoover did absolutely nothing wrong. He single-handedly transformed the FBI into the most well-equip, efficient, and powerful crimefighting agency to have ever existed.

>Hoover did absolutely nothing wrong
Except illegally tapping people and releasing information about them to the media in order to render their political viewpoints nullified.
Fuck off, big-government shill. The FBI should be neutral.
Lets discuss our faith, regardless of church, when did you realize that you believed in God? Where you raised Christian or did you find your way, what are your favorite prayers, verses, hymns, depictions of Christ, Mary, the saints e.t.c. Lets get a nice comfy thread going without throwing shit at other churches.
I was baptized as an Orthodox Christian, apart from my grandmother, nobody in my family was religious, all of my siblings including myself were atheists for a while, i returned to my faith once i realized i was just being an edgy shitlord and that there was no way in hell i, a human being, could ever even begin to comprehend something as God.

Some of my favorite hymns.
>tfw started studying Greek and Hebrew and reading the bible so I could btfo heretics and fedoras
>tfw starting to lose my faith
I was raised a Protestant, but became and edgy fedora in my teens. I recently regained my faith, but was turned off by Protestantism's anti traditional, anti philosophical and anti aesthetically views. Everything that's not in the bible is vain philosophy, traditions of men, paganism, etc. It's fucking annoying. I began to take an interest in traditional Catholicism but then pope Francis happened and I learned about Vatican II, and thE general corruption of the Catholic Church way before that. Right now I'm strongly considering orthodoxy, meanwhile I remain a Protestant.

I've said it before, i'm Charlemagne himself, my destiny is to rule the entire world in the name of God

>>2321247
No, it's charlemagne, carlomagno or carolus magnus, it's "magne" ,not "grobe", ok?
>>2321255
I thought he was called Charlie the Great
If allowed to develop for 500 more years without European meddling, which one of the organized groups and South and/or North America would have been able to get the upper hand?
Aztecs and Incas had political conflicts (Aztecs moreso with their flower wars), and the Mayans were already on their way out, but was there still a chance for more development?
>>2321233
They would have needed much much longer than 500 years. IIRC they only just entered the Bronze age upon European arrival.
>>2321233
None
>>2321233
some native peoples were only conquered when the machine gun appeared, I don´t think the incas or mayas could have expanded much
Who is the worst serial killer in the last hundred years?

The worst one probably is one of those who were never identified.
For the rest, I suppose there is a list with body counts on wikipedia.

Shitty middle east/Mesopotamia religion.
redpill me on neoplatonism
A word invented by 19th century German scholars. They just called it Platonism or "philosophy" back then.
>>2321085
A philosophical/metaphysical system which expanded upon the ideas of Plato.
>>2321096
Augustine, Aquinas, Ficino, when they referred to "the platonists", and even "Plato", they would actually cite ideas of Plotinus and Proclus, because they thought that they were part of one continuous tradition.
Is he correct? Did medieval people carry their beds around with them when travelling?

Michelangelo I believe was sculpting when he was 14
No.

Did you miss the last 582 threads asking the same question?
No they didn't start the war (though they egged on Austria-Hungary) but they certainly escalated it into a World War.
>>2321055
If anything Austria and Serbia started the war. Germany just escalated it because of the alliances of the time and its geographical position between France and Russia.
I am wondering about slang or pet names for the guillotine or other torture/execution devices. The kind of thing that you might read in a French novel of the time that everyone back then would have known but no one would 'get' now. Or something that might be briefly mentioned in a historical account of the revolution.
guillotine-san

la veuve = the widow
le grand rasoir national = the great national razor
la raccourcisseuse patriotic = the patriotic shortener

that would be patriotique
Russia
>began as a divided realm under Mongol submission
>through blood and steel overthrew Mongols and united the realm
>fought and struggled in wars with other European great powers like Sweden, Prussia or Ottomans
>expanded throughout bloody conquest, enslavement or slaughter of other nations
>strong semi-totalitarian government
>people are united in fully supporting their leader
USA
>began as a prospering colony under British rule
>waged single one actual war in its history for its independence
>thanks to its geographical position, never had to fight any wars of European measure
>most of it's success comes from contant European immigration
>democratic government that is constantly hated by half of the nation
>people are divided, always arguing and caring only about themselves
Why would anyone ever like USA? If they wouldn't be hiding on their little turf, they would be dead in a year.

If USA and Russia would be next to each other on a green field, Russia would wreck murricunts
>>2320938
While I do agree with what you say about the US, how can anybody like Russia?
>strong military that is only used on tiny, economically-fucked neighbouring states

Fuck both the States and Russia
