What was the real story of Troy? Did the Turks of the iliad really fall for the trojan horse trick or was that just something Homer invented?

We have no idea but oddly enough the Trojan Horse trick actually makes sense in the context of historical Greek cultures

>Turks
There were no Turks in Asia minor in this period of history.
>>
Troy was real, it got sacked & burned twice or so. It was populated before the "Bronze age collapse", but not afterward, when Homer wrote it was a ruin. Trojan war happened but Homer's stories are clearly embellished like every oral history.

The tower of Babel may have been based on a inaugurate/real building but that's not point of the story nor the meaning of "reaching heaven."

Is there anything more honorable than asceticism?
Does [non-religious] asceticism have a place in contemporary days? Does it hold an inherent value?

All across the world, throughout history, for both genders, all religions and cultures... asceticism has hold a place. Humans seem drawn to it, in-itself.
Are we just masochists?

At some point any wise human being will realize that our every action is motivated by the need to stimulate our minds and our souls with worldly actions and possessions. Wealth, sex, drugs, vanity, power are things that most of us are motivated by and are things that shape the way we act. But things things will never fulfill us. There is little in life that is truly fulfilling because by nature humans always seek more or grow discontented by the things we do have.

The ascetic withdraws from this hellish cycle and instead lives a simple and often painful life so that he trains himself to become accustomed to nothing. He accepts his place in the world, even if that place is nothing.

Once you are free of the cycles of desire, you can think more objectively about human existence.

The only thing I am skeptical about is the possibility of eliminating desire or even conquering it. It will always be there lingering in the back of your mind.

I did it in first year but failed because I discovered vagoo and spent more time with that than books. Basically you just need autistic resolve. Do you use Oxford issue textbooks? They walk you through things gently
>>

We use Wiley's Real Latin. It's not gentle at all. It's very concise and nearly everything MUST be memorised. Also the translation exercises it gives you are insanely difficult.

>Redpill me on the federal reserve /his/.

Just another form of central bank.

Despite what economically illiterate libertarians might think, concepts like the central bank, fractional reserve banking, and all the other spectres of state finance are necessary parts of a modern financial system. They were invented to solve very real problems, and have very important roles in the way modern states work, and without them, governments and national economies as a whole would be far less stable.

Finance is treated like a spooky secretive evil cult because it's by necessity incredibly complex and can be difficult to understand. And because it's difficult to understand, it's difficult to explain to ordinary people why its necessary. And because it's difficult to explain why it's necessary to ordinary people, it's very easy for someone to come along and scream 'BANKING INDUSTRY' or 'GOVERNMENT BAILOUTS' or 'JEWS' and have people running around scared and suspicious.

The only redpill on central banking is that there is no redpill really. If you want to learn about why its important, prepare to do a lot of reading about some very autistic and complex mathematics and economics. There is no quick summary, the topic is too complex, this is why it's an easy scapegoat.

>The definition of White has changed significantly over the course of American history. Among Europeans those not considered White at some point in American history include Italians, Greeks, Spaniards, Irish, Swedes, Germans, Finns, Russians and French.

What basis is there for this?

It's certainly not true if you go by the definition of white in the US Census. Otherwise there's the accepted Asiatic influence in Hungarians and Finns among decentralized public educators, but do we have records of private parties seriously challenging the validity of those ethnicities being white?

Early anthropology and early evolutionary studies were highly chaotic in this regard. There was no set definition of race because it was entirely not based in genetics but in phenotype and culture. This led to disagreements in academia that spilled over into the realm of politics and nation building. Obviously, race is hard to define even though there are some very clear cut differences. A pure, 100% Dane is very different than a pure, 100% Bantu. Of course, when you throw say, North Africans or Turks into their, things get confused, as it does when we get into race mixed individuals (IE, is someone who is 99% white but 1% black white, black, or something else?).

The advent of genetic studies in regards to race was highly hampered by political correctness. Nevertheless, we can clearly see divergences and groupings of races in population studies. The inclusion of other hominids like Neanderthals and Erectus into the formation of different human populations also lends credit to race.

Why women claim that feminism has never killed anyone when feminism historically has been little else than a front movement for revolutionary communism, dedicated to enlist the support of women to communist parties, which have killed dozens of millions themselves.

With the exception of maybe Pol Pot, I can't think of a single communist leader who wasn't also a feminist.

I legitimately cannot see Constantine as having been an actual, and I can't imagine that he ever considered himself one. It's likely he had some form of interest in it, and even fondness for it, but he never took it to heart.

His pushing Christianity as a state religion (unofficially) seems to have been more a consolidation of power, since Christianity was much more conducive to a centralized autocratic government than paganism ever was, as opposed to what some believe (that he pushed Christianity because he was a genuine believer).

Surviving Celtic languages today are split into two categories: Gaelic and Brythonic. Gaelic= Manx (Isle of Man), Gaidhlig (Scotland) and Gaelige (Ireland). Brythonic = Breton (Brittany), Cornish (Cornwall) and Welsh (Wales, my language). There's very little mutual intelligibility cross-categorically but some within the individual branches (ie. I speak Welsh and I can't understand Irish at all, but can understand about 40% of what someone's saying in Cornish.) Welsh and Irish Gaelic are the only ones left that are widely used with over a million each... if I'm not mistaken I'm pretty sure Manx is down to its last 100ish speakers.
