This video made me wonder

How was contact like between the first European settlers and the Native Americans?
I would be interested in any writings or stories about first contacts and what went through peopleĀ“s minds.
The idea of seeing other humans with weird technology, weird skin colour and weird hair for the first time fascinates me.
Also: How did they communicate?
> How did they communicate?
jesuits used music and it totally worked

Trade, that is how communication starts.

How comes France and Britain were against German Reunifcation?
Did they still believe Germany could return to National Socialism and try to invade their neighbours again?
>inb4 PIIGS and Slavs spam their "destroyers of yurp" maymay
>>2373601
Well, they did take over Europe afterwards.
>>2373601
>less than 3 decades later the Germans once again control all of Europe, destroy Greece, Spain, Italy and Portugal, provoke Russia nearly to the point of war, flood Europe with migrants and keep trying to turn the EU into a state
Honestly, Stalin was right. His only mistake was not giving Poland '''East Germany'''

What was his fucking problem?
>>2372230
Black Jews drinking whiskey on dark side of Moon.
To much of a hardon for nukes
>>2372230
Cuba wasn't nuked into a hellscape.
What the fuck was his problem?
>>2371963
He was too ignorant to know what his problem was
>>2372256
Sounds like he was a dork.

Which country has won the most wars?
>>2371681
In terms of sheer numbers probably Rome
>>2371681
FRANCE even though it wasn't a "country" yet

Can non-Christians go to heaven?
>>2376469
No
Sorry OP, no Catholics in heaven
Wow im out of breath looking at those stairs. Can God install a fucking escalator or some shit? fuck man
>>2376469
>No one comes to the Father except through me.
What is morally wrong with degenerate sex? Why do nihilists and ancaps argue "let people be with their business" "why you gotta try to control people man?"
Sex, any kind of sex is inherently disgusting. 100 gay men getting into a room and having a giant fag sex party with muscle relaxers and crystal me and leather and whips makes it all so much more disgusting.
>>2376352
>implying implications
>degenerate sex
This board really is other /pol/ isn't it?
That mask really needs to be used in Anubis themed role-play sex.
Was Malthus right? Is chaos and death the only way to control population? Are states like Kerala and phenomenons like the birth dearth just temporary anomalies?
>we need chaos and death to prevent overpopulation, which would cause chaos and death
Seems like a doctor killing the patient because they might get sick.
>>2376199
I mean my oversimplification doesn't quite compare to Malthus's actual justification for it
>>2376203
Well, Malthusian economics seems more predictive than prescriptive if I've been paying proper attention to it.
Is there any evidence for this?
>>2375873
Jesus told his followers to give up their material possessions to the poor and that rich people can't get into heaven.
He's more similar to a hippie than a Marxist in all honesty, if that's what you mean by 'commie'. Commies can believe in private property and such.
That said, Christian communism was a thing.
>>2375873
It's just projecting a 19th century ideology on societies in the past. If you want to you can find commie ideology in his preaching of poverty or in the clearance of the temple. But so it's possible for other ideology: the Kingdom of god is somewhere in between monarchy and theocracy and so on
who /latin/ here?
quid agis anon?
Non summus Latin..itate or whatever the fuck.
It's been too long I forgot all this shit
>>2375745
What were you trying to say there anon?
how do I start learning Latin? Any good books?
I speak Spanish as my native language so it shouldn't be super hard right?
What was the most corrupt a Christian church ever got?
In the teaching of the Roman Catholic Church, an indulgence is "a way to reduce the amount of punishment one has to undergo for sins".[1] It may reduce the temporal punishment after death, in the state or process of purification called Purgatory. This temporal punishment would not be considered "time", as Purgatory, like Heaven and Hell, is said to exist "outside of time".
https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Indulgence
>>2375222
There is literally nothing wrong with indulgences.
Pope Francis takes money from KSA to flood Europe with rapefugees and kiss their feet
I just discovered philosophy recently and I want to learn more. Where should I start?
>>2375056
Stoicism or Utilitarianism.
Really the only two good options when it comes to philosophy.
>>2375056
Plato's the Republic. Read an annotated version and watch videos.

Any other book suggestions?
Why are there virtually no indiaphiles? India was incredibly rich historically and is still culturally diverse. They even speak english. Yet, they always play second-fiddle to China. There's nearly always a china thread up whereas I can't even remember a good thread on India or Indian history.
They've been on the "good" side of conflicts AFAIK, and are a current US ally, and are a democracy on top of it. Is it the curse of being not exotic/foreign enough, or are they really that unremarkable?
>>2374942
>are they really that unremarkable?
I don't think any westerner has been able to publish something like "A Guide of India" that managed to be popular.
Nowadays, our introduction to world cultures is seeing their ass prolapse from being reamed by a Los Angeles jew.
>>2374942
It's not that they're not interesting it's just depressing talking about a country that gets mass raped every few hundred years and never really does anything about it except starve themselves.
