Corruption and society in Northern and Southern Europe.

In Northern Europe, corruption is thought not to exist or barely exist. People are very trustworthy of their goverment officials and are shocked if they discover a case of corruption. But that does not mean that there is no corruption at all.

In southern Europe however, people are aware of their goverments corruption. And because they are aware that politicians launder tax money, the tax payers refuse to report their income honestly as well. Thus creating a self-feeding problem.

Seems to have just come naturally. I remember owning a kid's book about the history of flight when I was like 6 and I read it over and over again. It talked about the Icarus, tower jumping in the middle ages, Da Vinci's inventions, then onto the Wright Brothers etc. I was totally fascinated. What kind of extradition treaty does the US have with Spain? We'd need to look up the indictment itself to find out exactly which charges are being alleged. That can make a big difference in terms of how a foreign country proceeds with a case. They'll move more quickly on big ones like murder and so forth than more complex/questionable cases like "fraud."

is there something you wanted to know beyond that? like, phenomenologically? there is nothing objective you can infer past what I've explained, what you should do with pleasure and pain is your opinion. sensation is ultimately a subjective experience, dependent on the perspective of the organism that's interpreting the sensation. it is simply a very common opinion that obtaining pleasure is desirable and worthy of action, and avoiding pain is also desirable and worthy of action, due to the biological mechanisms in place.
