Well, you have to be patient with Christians. By and large, they're either not very well read on their own scriptures, or not very bright. (or both) I mean, they also insist that there are no contradictions in the Bible, when the Gospels can't even agree on what Jesus's last words on the cross were.

"The LDS edition of the Bible is a version of the Bible published by The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (LDS Church) in English, Spanish and Portuguese. The text of the LDS Church's English-language Bible is the Authorized King James Version; the church's Spanish-language Bible is a revised Reina-Valera translation and the Portuguese-language edition is based on the Almeida translation. The editions include footnoting, indexing, and summaries that are consistent with LDS Church teachings and that integrate the Bible with the church's other standard works. The LDS Church encourages its members to use the LDS edition of the Bible.

The eighth Article of Faith of the church states, "We believe the Bible to be the word of God as far as it is translated correctly".[1]"

I mean technically you probably can. The Nicene creed (if you don't subscribe to this you ain't a Christian) doesn't necessarily conflict with the fundamentals? Of buddhism afaik.

It's outside church tradition though and you'd probably be a heretic

Is this a Catholic-centered idea?

Anything's possible. This being said, the ultimate goal of Christianity is oneness with God/beatific vison. The ultimate goal of Buddhism is nirvana. They don't seem to be the same. Also theirs nothing I can think about Buddhism that Jesus doesn't already teach that you would apply to your life beyond the mental sphere.

Do good women prone to traditional pair-bonding still exist or have they been systematically ruined by certain interest groups bombarding the youth with subversive information?

It's a rather tough sociological problem to solve, I think a society would be happier if it toned down hookups etc.

These are all targeted for destruction by the Cultural Marxists.

Liberals, progressives, commies and "social justice" revolutionaries are a cancer that wants to undermine western civilization and destroy everything that made it so great.

That includes the family nucleus. They want children to be raised by the state.

Authoritarian leftists hate strong traditional family roles.

If I desire to free myself of desire, is that not in itself a desire?

Or in Christian terms, if my will is selfish and I want the Holy Spirit to change that, how can I get it to change me if "me" is my own selfish will? They say you have to get divine grace. But if I am to get Grace, why have I not got it already? Is it because I haven't accepted it? But we've already established that my will is inherently selfish so how could I be faulted? Then should I become a calvinist and say that everyone who receives Grace is predestined to do so? If that is so, then how can God judge those he chooses not to give Grace?

Yep

that's where the Way stops being useful
from there the pursuit operates without reference to language or logic
Eventually you'll realize that all that shit is irrelevant.

Also, you can't put Buddhist concepts in Christian terms.

If your desire is to serve God for the benefit of Him it ceases to be "selfish".
>>
>>2380529
it's a little more complex than freeing yourself from desire, at least in mayahana. you're freeing yourself from impermanent sensual attachment, which is not the same thing. it's totally legitimate to have "wants" and "ambitions" as goal-directed behavior to reach more favorable states of being. this is all very concisely discussed in the jewel ornament of liberation, if you want references.
