Can we discuss Biafra and the Nigerian Civil War?
For example, why on earth was the conventional West supporting the same side as the Soviets? Why did they support the Muslim regime over the Christian Igbos?
>>2388125
>conventional West
>USA
>UK
>Sandniggers
>Slavs
Pick one
You're American right ?
>>2388157
By conventional West I meant America and the UK only. And yes they are the conventional West in modern times
>slavs
>slav proxies
That's why I said the SAME SIDE AS THE SOVIETS.
And no I'm not American and I don't know why that was relevant

The war between good and evil.
Left side represents everything evil in this world.
Yes, even Bulgaria.
So imagine a future where robots replace people as workforce but people still get paid, so they have money but they have 24 hours of free time a day.
What the fuck would happen to society ?
normgroids would start chimping out en masse after a month or two demanding they are given their jobs back, they need structure and an arc to their life, they are not ready for the neet lyfe not now not ever
>>2388042
>not taxing the robots
>>2388042
People would focus on creating new forms of infrastructure, art, architecture, entertainment and information exchange.
>corporal punishment is inhumane
>locking up somebody with other criminals and taking away years of his life is somehow fine
I never understood this shit. I would much rather take a beating that would hurt for a few days than waste months in jail. Even a short sentence means losing your job and an increased difficulty going back to normal life, especially if we are talking about American prisons.
Is there any reason jail sentences are more moral than corporal punishment? Is there a historical precedent for jail sentences being more effective at keeping crime down?
>>2388037
It's better for society if you think about what you did instead of being beaten into violence.
>>2388045
>instead of being beaten into violence
That's exactly what happens to people in jail. Also, it's hard to think about how you have done wrong if you are surrounded by other criminals.
Bring back honor based humiliation punishment.
Imagine if every time a person cheated on their taxes or committed petty theft they were dragged through public and pelted with tomatoes and eggs for days on end instead of doing a year in some club fed meme prison.
>"Hey anonymous, you are aware of the fascist nature of your actions right"
>tfw the Frankfurt school is right, capitalism really did eradicate all genuine culture with the only ones holding out being maybe the Middle East
It's an odd feel.
>fascist, adj.
>Behaving in a manner perceived as autocratic, intolerant, or oppressive
There's no more flagrant demonstration of the ressentiment of the liberals than their obvious view of the entire past, not only man's, but all of nature's, as a mistake. Wars, conquerors, hierarchies, and even masculinity itself were all bad and evil, including all other animals (the jungle), and even the stars themselves for having the temerity to explode (it goes against "conservation" and respect for the environment) — never mind that without wars and hierarchies there'd be no civilization any more than without exploding stars there would be life. "The basest creature will see the domain of evil everywhere" (Nietzsche). Conversely, the highest creature would see no evil at all. The concept of evil would seem to it to be something ridiculous and absurd.
Despotism is the start of everything — what allowed us to part ways from the animals and forge our own future. It was strong human beings who took control of the herd and turned it into a tribe, the tribe into a city, the city into a nation, the nation into an empire, the empire into a culture, and finally the culture... into an Overman. And it is the strong (no-longer-so-)human being who, once more, will lead the way by lighting the match that will send up the entire world in flames.

Do western memes even translate to sinophilosophy?
Why not just accept what is of worth from both Daoism and Confuscianism and discard what is not?
Surely a discussion of what is of worth or importance in either or both traditions would be a far better discussion than simply positing one against the other?

The problem becomes your enemies will accuse you of "cherry picking."
Why did they write that in german instead of polish? Auschwitz was located in Poland and hosted mostly polish jews, what was their thinking?
>>2387872
>Auschwitz was located in Poland
Wrong

Almost as if Hitler wanted to leave no trace of Slavs.
The language of the leaders anyone has to under stand in orders
/his/, you suddenly learn that your uncle has risen to being the dictator of a South American nation, before dying, and leaving the leadership to you.
If you don't lead, and lead well, you will be assassinated to eliminate your claim to the position.
What do you do with your new nation? Assume that it's a shitty third-world nation about the size of Belgium with typical South American resources and population.

Give em the ol' Kool aide treatment.
Subsidize alcohol, drugs and cheap fast food. Blast regaton in every public square 24/7. Assume my title as King of the Bundas, hero of the great bronze mestizo race, wise knower of all things that are good in life.

They don't follow you without doubt, most are wary of you, and others outright hate you. Also, you'd be tried for crimes against humanity.
Who are the handsomest dictators in history?
And I mean handsome when they were in power so no pictures of 20 year old stalin
>>2387631
>20 year old stalin
Fun fact: that photo was retouched to hide the smallpox marks Stalin had since early childhood. He was a vapid cunt.
Yeah I guess Gaddafi is about as handsome as you can get as an Arab.

What would have been the worst time to be president of the US?
between 1774 and 1789

So before the office of president was established. Good to know.

What does the word "O.K" stand for?
Or does it come from just "Okay"?
Van Buren used to initial his memos with O.K. "Old Kinderhook"
It was a newspaper meme that became popular in New England in the 1850's or something
The joke was making acronyms of phrases that have been spelled wrong
O.K. is "All Correct" -> "Oll Korrect"
But don't take my word for it, google is your friend
>>2387596
It's Plattdeutsch: "Ohns kloar", all clear, okay
Were they nostalgic for a time before the emperor? Or did they mock the shambles that democracy collapsed into towards the end of the republic?
I am under the impression that the populace arent well learned enough to care. Maybe the patricians.
The common people didn't even realise the republic collapsed. After all, Augustus called himself princeps, meaning first of the senate, and a lot of relics from the republic, like the cursus honorum, were left almost untouched.
>>2387588
The distinction between Empire and republic isn't as clear as most people think it is. In the early period of the Empire most people would have made no difference. For them it was still the republic just more stable because one noble actually decided the Civil wars that ravaged the late republic. Also the early emperors have much more in common with republican dictators (Augustus sometimes allowed other people to be Consul similiar to Putin allowing his Medwedjew to be president) in the titles they were granted and the way they ruled. Augustus ruled so long that most people, especially commoners, couldn't really remember the time of the republic and the ones that could only remebered Civil war and instability. So for them it only seemed natural too accept another emperor/first citizen/dictator. The roman emperors started resembling emperors in the so called Dominate starting in the late antiquity about 284 AD. The earlier period of the Empire the Principate was still very rooted in the republic and its an outsiders/historians view to make such a clear distinction.
There was no chance for Yugoslavia to remain united once Tito died?
Yes there are no chance ZDS!
>>2387567
Probably, if it continued Socialism (not Communism).
Saying that as India (I know Socialism is why India is still poor), at that time, recently adopted Capitalism after sorting out years of regional instability in it's country. It was socialist before that.
No, I don't think any kind of one party authoritarian socialism would have been possible in western europes sphere of influence after 1989, and that's nothing to say about the problems that were unique to Yugoslavia. My father tells me stories about he never personally bought into the brotherhood and unity stuff growing up there but always assumed he was a minority and was shocked by how 1990 there wasn't a single remnant of it or appreciation for socialism left.

Why are Persian soldiers always depicted in Scythian-styled clothing? Shoudn't they look like guys from Persepolis relief?
ordinary soldiers fit the description pic related greek depiction of persians
>>2387438
the Persepolis reliefs are most likely them in ceremonial clothing
>>2388897
Absolutely. The immortals even have fancy gold pomegranates instead of butt spikes for their spears in the relief. Given that the context of the reliefs is of subjects bringing of tribute to the Shah, this is probably what troops wore at court. It's basically a dress uniform.
