So anybody here that take their language cues from Britain, see the word dodgy as meaning:
1. Inclined to dodge
2.
evasively tricky:
a dodgy manner of dealing with people.
3.
Chiefly British. risky; hazardous; chancy.
(definitions from dictionary.com)
Do you Americans also see the word 'DODGY to mean the same? And if you do, you instantly interpret the word as this, or do you have to think about it (IE common usage or not).
Just curious really.

If any country can be considered to have definitively won WWI, it was Italy. They got more clay than they deserved, clear defensible borders, and their main geopolitical foe, Austria-Hungary, ceased to exist, despite the fact that their contribution to victory was minimal. The fact that they actually got butthurt about muh mutilated victory is pure autism. France had way more justification to claim their victory was mutilated.

They needed France on good terms with the rest of the Western Allies to avoid a possible communist government in France. Absolutely snubbing them out of the Peace agreements would've almost guaranteed a backlash in the form of France voting in a communist government.

Same story with Italy as well. The Italians got extremely lenient terms in the peace agreement considering Germany and Japan's fate, avoiding military occupation altogether and no division of their homeland in an attempt to prevent Italy from electing a communist government as well, and again, it came close.

Outright punishing your own allies would have been a stupid decision consider the political climate after WW2, and the West needed as many allies as they could get after half of the continent was gobbled up by the Soviets after the war.
