Does anyone know any Indus Valley myths?
When Mara the Demon King challenged the Buddha with three challenges for the seat of enlightenment. He first sent his three daughters to seduce him, then his armies to attack him, and finally simply tried to best him with reason and argument.

We haven't deciphered the Indus script, and even if we did, it would almost definitely just be inventory records.

When you think about it, Manifest Destiny and the Monroe Doctrine are fucking crazy.
FACT: The industrial revolution is the worst thing to happen to society:
>Living conditions were already improving for the pesantry, serfdom and slavery was abolished in large swathes of Europe and her colonies in the late 18th century, long before the industrial revolution had it's impact in the mid-19th century.
>Watermills got build throughout Europe in the 18th century, increasing the productivity of workers without the pollution of coal and steam.
>The scientific method was developed during the enlightenment, before the industrial revolution. We'd still have sewers, medicine and the metric system.
>Overexploitation of resources.
>Canals and roads were already being buildt at a steady rate, no practical need for railroads.
>Agricultural productivity had been increasing steadily, due to the selective breeding of plants and animals alongside a better understanding of crop rotations and soils. The need for pesticides and herbicides.
>People lived in the now, architecture wasn't imitations like "mock-gothic" "mock-oriental" and "mock-georgian" which prevailed in the mid-19th century
>People lived locally, no internet, no attention-span pollution.
Humanity doomed itself in the 19th century.
What are some entry level books for traditionalism and monarchists? I want to hear their rhetoric for people that they wish to persuade

Nobility sucks since the 17th century. Move on bro.

>Implying that monarchism has to be aristocratic
China and Japan (from the Meiji period onwards) were both able to be successful monarchical nations without much in the way of an aristocratic class.
While there are monarchists out-there that do wish for a return of such a class (typically constrained by 'noblesse oblige').
There are many more that are quite happy to do away with an aristocratic class.
Why do you fags think that traditionalism=monarchism or the other way round?
The biggest changes in human culture has been done under monarchies.
Pic related.
On July 16, 1864, Burbridge issued Order No. 59 which declared: "Whenever an unarmed Union citizen is murdered, four guerrillas will be selected from the prison and publicly shot to death at the most convenient place near the scene of the outrages."[1]During Burbridge's rule in Kentucky, he directed theexecutionand imprisonment of numerous people, including public figures, on charges oftreasonand other high crimes.
>Jennison soon exceeded his authority to defend the Kansas border counties against General Sterling Price’s army, then positioned in central Missouri after the Battle of Lexington. Henry W. Halleck, the new commander of the Department of the Missouri, criticized Jennison for “cross[ing] the line, [to] rob, steal, plunder, and burn whatever they can lay their hands upon.” At Independence, Jennison arrested every adult male, admonished accused secessionists for their depredations against Unionists, and then after releasing them, kept the secessionists’ possessions, including slaves. He was soon accused of similarly plundering Missouri’s proslavery Unionists.
Justified.

This is probably a stupid question. But if the Scandinavians trekked to a part of North America and back, you would think it would be well documented that they discovered completely new territory and that the news would leak across Europe right?
Except the Nords tended to not account information written so its very possible any record of it was oral and lost by the death of the settlers there.

I need some info on the church's greed leading to the crusades, more in depth the better, any help is appreciated.
The initial motive was to try and reunite the Orthodox and Catholic church, it was thought the crusade would retake Anatolia and the Romans would mend the schism so they could assume suzerain over the Catholic crusaders there, however as the campaign progressed they had great difficulty squaring off against the formidable Turks and gravitated towards the lucrative ports of the Eastern Mediterranean instead where they could be supplied by sea and march ever closer to the Holy Land.
>Is it for this then that Heracles'children should be spared? a man who has won a reputation for valour inhis contests with beasts, in all else a weakling; who ne'er buckled shield to arm nor faced the spear, but with a bow, that coward's weapon, was everready to run away. Archery is no test of manly bravery; no! he is a manwho keeps his post in the ranks and steadily faces the swift wound thespear may plough.
>Next thou dost disparage that clever invention, an archer's weapon;come, listen to me and learn wisdom. A man who fights in line is a slaveto his weapons, and if his fellow-comrades want for courage he is slainhimself through the cowardice of his neighbours, or, if he break his spear,he has not wherewithal to defend his body from death, having only one means of defence; whereas all who are armed with the trusty bow, though theyhave but one weapon, yet is it the best; for a man, after discharging countlessarrows, still has others wherewith to defend himself from death, and standingat a distance keeps off the enemy, wounding them for all their watchfulnesswith shafts invisible, and never exposing himself to the foe, but keepingunder cover; and this is far the wisest course in battle, to harm the enemy,if they are not stationed out of shot, and keep safe oneself.

Do you think he would've supported the American Revolution? Even though he was a British citizen.
>>3310668
The constitution was founded upon his ideals, so possibly.
Even Burke supported the American revolution, so I would be inclined to think Locke would too.
I believe he would...he was deeply troubled by revolution to my knowledge. He grew up during the English civil war, shit changed the world
