When did you realize that God is not actual omnipotent nor omniscient but instead a flawed being just like us? Although he is orders of magnitude greater than us, he still makes mistakes.

When did you realize there is absolutely nothing in the Bible that shows that he would be omnipotent, or without fault?

>>
>>2486272

You are correct. The whole omnipotent etc etc thing is a nonsense concept made up by Christian theologians, God isn't omnipotent in Judaism.

Is there a name for this? Open Theism is the closest, but it still doesn't reject his omnipotence.

So let me get this straight - the people there cut down ALL of their trees so that they can move around those statues and the lack of trees fucked them up and they almost went extinct?

NO.
>>
lol i dunno
>>
>>2486264
Pretty much. Once they cut all the trees down their culture was finished. Easter Island has a more depressing history than most parts of the world.

why did the Germans have a fixation with the British anyways?
In 1800 leading up to 1900

They sought an alliance because
>Britain and Germany both were tense with Russia and competitive/hostile with France
>Common cultural ties
>Germany wanted a massive naval ally to compensate their land army

It didn't work as Britain wanted to maintain a balance of power and Wilhelm II hating England.

When the Greeks wrote that a God was born outside their lands, like Ares being from Thrace or Dionysus from Ethiopia, does that mean they liked them less than ones like Athena who were 100% native?
5 posts and 1 images submitted.
>>
nope, not necessarily. what do you even mean by "liked them less"? their gods had different areas of influence and had power over different things. it only makes sense that they had different places of origin. if Ares came from Thrace then it's probably implied that the Thracians were a warlike people.
>>
It means that Ares was first worshipped in Thrace. As cultural exchange happened with new places, their local gods were incorporated into the larger pantheon.

btw, there is no such thing as "native" except to individual city states.
>>
>>2486056

Usually it meant that the ideas of rites and worship were originally foreign and were adopted by the Greeks somehow.
