Even if most of this is psuedoscience, it's fun to talk about it, especially his discussions and lecture on the evolution of human consciousness and language.

I don't want an answer to this question, but what in the flying fuck sort of coherent thought could possibility exist within an idea described as such lmao

Nah. It could be different if we humans were different. So it's not objective, it's based on what current humans think.

At what point in American history did feminism (aka female nationalism) stop being necessary? I'd say 1976 when it became obvious it was doing more harm than good
I dunno I just hate the modern roastie, I've been lucky enough to date mostly submissive chicks but listening to strong womyn lecturing their boyfriends about all kinds of mundane shit and having the guy nod his head in agreement and refusing to challenge her is pathetic. American girls work overtime to seem masculine and it's very unsettling.
as soon as women could vote, feminism was doomed to become what it is now.
"Abstract" art like this is pointless and nothing more than pretentious art faggotry. Prove me wrong. I want to see the light.
>I just don't get it
>>2508947
It was new and "fresh" and thus fawned over like the prettiest girl in school. Eventually it stopped being new and fresh and got dumped like the used up std-riddled slut
Its only pointless and retarded if it isnt a drawing of something. If its a really abstract drawing of something, its aesthetic and cool. If its random shit that could be anything and the artist didnt have anything in mind when he made it, its shit.
Also probably you don't get it.
>>2508947
art is subjevtive. i like the art piece you have provided honestly. If you do't like it, then go find some different art.
>abstract art is pointless
no shit, everything is pointless. life is meaningless. the only reason to do anything is because you want to. If you want to make weird art, or look at weird art, do it. If you wanna shitpost on /his/ do it. If you are asking why i like this piece in particular, i would have to say it is because it almost looks like it resembles something. the colors are light and bizarre, and i feel like there is more to it than meets the eye. whether there really is layers of depth to this image, or whether its only supposed to give off that impression i dont care, it gives me something to occupy my mind with. Tell me OP, what art do you like?
Hi, please help me resolve this problem.
>Jesus claims to be the son of god to a group of people
>Jesus proceeds to multiply bread and fish right in front of their eyes with his bare hands to feed them
>Jesus performs various miracles like this in front of people
>so, these people are given direct and definitive proof of Jesus's claims of being the son of god
>by extension they are given proof of not only God's existence but the veracity of the soon-to-be formed fellowship/religion that we now call Christianity
>fast forward to the current year
>Jesus/God gives no proof whatsoever to anyone
>I am expected to take on faith what was proven to others in the past
>but at the same time, the Bible claims that God is fair and just even though current-age believers are not being treated fairly
Thanks. Have a wallpaper.
True intellectual Christians like myself have always maintained that the miracles were metaphors for the power of faith in Jesus to manipulate the forces of the natural world through advanced quantum mechanics.
Supposed "miracles" won't happen unless you first devote yourself to faith, then you'll be able to move mountains. Jesus never did any miracles by himself, only when those who needed him showed faith.
However it's not our place to question miracles, the Christian's priority should be the acts of social justice.
>>2508945
>>by extension they are given proof of not only God's existence but the veracity of the soon-to-be formed fellowship/religion that we now call Christianity
At no point was life all-good for the religious. Early Christians died horrible deaths for their faith.
>>2508945
You think THAT's the fundamental problem with Christianity? That it can no longer produce miracles more or less on demand?
What about the fact that it supposedly bases itself, at least in part, on an older revelation, which among other things tells you not to listen to people just because they perform miracles. That it is in fact thoroughly inconsistent with this older revelation that it "fulfills", and yet at the same time holds the former to be revelation from God and True with a capital T?

Hey /his/. I'm working with Jordan Peterson to get an AMA going, and wanted to invite you to come and share your thoughts and questions for Dr. Peterson. It's happening March 23rd 7-9pm EST on /r/IamA. Share any questions in regards to philosophy or psychology with him.

I'm quite ignorant regarding Chinese history, so I would like to be (((le redpilled))) on two historical memes I've heard about them.
1) I've heard that China is not a proper nation, but is more like if the Roman Empire had survived to the present day. Is this accurate?
2) How much damage did Mao and the Communists actually do to traditional Chinese culture?
1. Somewhat true, although it's more of a proper nation than many nations. Chinese don't believe in race, they believe in culture.
2. The communists did quite a lot of damage, but more damage was done before the Communists. You could say the Communists are just in the latest in a series of tragedies befalling the Chinese. In particular, the Mongol invasions ended China's most prosperous era, the Song dynasty. The Manchu invasion eradicated probably a similar amount of Han Chinese culture as the Communist regime did, and Western imperialism during the Qing dynasty caused massive disillusionment with traditional Chinese culture which led many young revolutionaries to embrace Western ideas like democracy, nationalism, and communism.
When Chinese people think of "traditional" Chinese culture, they think of high points in Chinese history such as the Han, Tang, Song, and Ming eras. You should check those out if you're interested.

>1) I've heard that China is not a proper nation, but is more like if the Roman Empire had survived to the present day. Is this accurate?
In a sense. Historically the state that became China did not have a real concept of the nation-state (something that arose out of the Peace of Westphalia) as a nation tied to a state , rather the state was simply the center of civilization, and if you lived under the state and followed civilized (Confucian) practices and culture then you were a part of the civilization. Chinese nationalism (as in, the Nationalists i.e. the Kuomintang) was novel at the time of the Republic's founding.
The actual peoples who today live in China were of diverse languages, cultural practices, and genetic features. The flag of the early Republic of China was a banner of five colors representing the major ethnicities of the Han, Manchu, Mongol, Hui, and Tibetan. Even within the so-called "Han ethnicity", Mandarin is as different from Shanghainese as Spanish is from Italian, and to a well-traveled person a Cantonese native is as distinguishable from a Beijinger as a Sicilian is from a Swede.

Makes me think.
Not shitposting here im pretty curious. I was raised as a non-denominational christian but left the faith when i was like eight. some 11 years later and everyone i was raised with left the faith too. dont get me wrong, i've heard the 'christianity is finished in next 40 years' meme and i think that's bullshit when you put it into a global perspective, but when i go to church with the folks the sermons are so much less about "GUYZ IT RLY HEPPND" and more about general moral guidance. As thousands of year pass and their messiah doesnt return, will it just painstakingly discredit the mythology through the ages and only serve as a moral-ethical relic? will relativism memes rule western europe while islamisation kills off the stonk christfucks? It might get stronger as a conservative identity people will use to manifest their anti-immigration sentiment, but it will inevitably disappear within the next 100 years. Pope Francis is doing everything in his power to ensure this. Catholicism was the formal identity of European conservativism, modern people don't need religion, and by trying to "mainstreamize" Christianity and bringing it closer to its origins, he is destroying any weight this identity still holds.
