How common was cheating in the Victorian era? Or casual sex?

I always assumed they were much more conservative than most other times in history.

>While the Christians in the pre-Victorian era were content with restricting sex to marriage, Victorians were concerned with how best to harness sex and rechannel it to loftier ends. For Victorians a moral man abstained from sex outside of marriage and was highly selective and considerate in sexual expression within marriage. And a moral woman endured these sporadic ordeals and did nothing to encourage them. Pleasure was not an appropriate goal for either sex, but especially not so for a woman.

Was there ever a time where there was casual sex in history that didn't involve Romans?
>>

Not even the Romans considered it a good thing moron.

Can someone tell me about the events leading up to the war of 1812, or major events in the war?

There was a large amount of people who had lost the spirit of patriotism. the War of 1812 fixes this and births many nationalist songs. Fixes trade problems and restores national faith.

Great ancient cities and architecture

Ayuttaya was once the largest city on Earth and European vistors called it "The Venice of the East"

Many of our ruins used to be huge building with gold coating on top

Thats why southeast asia is called "suvarna bhumi" or the "land of gold"/"the golden land"

Yeah. Just go STEM and hope society collapses so you can be in charge of some small town where you can read all day and apply your knowledge to strengthen your post-apocalyptic community.

Most non specialised jobs nowadays just want a degree. Any degree. So long as you get a really good final grade you can study anything you want.

If you want to actually become a historian you'll need to go the full monty and do a Master's and then a PhD and then either

1. Schmooze with your colleagues and the higher ups, they might give you some kind of position in teaching or research

2. Hope some university somewhere finds the subject you specialised in interesting enough to offer you a teaching or research position

Alternatively there are some jobs like tour guides or working in a museum or document checking that need history graduates but supply far outstrips demand. A tour guide job popped up on a local job site a week ago and 500 people have applied for it.

Why did the Romans have to close the twilight of Hellenism? How did shitty legionaries beat phalangites with their big ass sarissas, something to do with flexibility I'm guessing? Why didn't the Macedonians and other Diadochi states deploy light infantry on their flanks if that was the problem, like hypaspitai?

What were battles between the Seleucids and Rome like?
6 posts and 1 images submitted.
>>
>>2605486
Phalanx's are shithouse on hills and romans were more manoeuvrable. Also somehow the greeks forgot how to use the phalanx properly with cavalry support etc and just went back to the basic bunch of dudes with spears with no support. The system devolved into a far less effective one.
>>
For some reason the greeks were massive autists that forgot how to wage war and how to do battle after Alexander died
>>
>>2606997
I think it was literally because it was cheaper to do it that way, and for a while just increasing the depth of phalanxes and length of pikes was literally all it took to beat other diadochi neighbours, thus they evolved to rigidly and couldn't adapt without expensive complete overhauls of their military's

Not everyone who says to Me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the kingdom of heaven, but only he who does the will of My Father in heaven. Many will say to Me on that day, ‘Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in Your name, and in Your name drive out demons and perform many miracles?’ 23Then I will tell them plainly, ‘I never knew you; depart from Me, you workers of lawlessness.’

I can't believe it has caught on. No serious historian thinks in terms of generations or thinks there was something special about that one.

"Wow they were special because they lived through some hardship that was only rough by American standards, then got conscripted by their government to go overseas and fight Nazis."
>>
>>2605394
>>2605407
Nah, theyre probz the worst generation, cause they paved the way for little shits like you and blue haired faggots to live.
>>
>>2605444
I'm not saying that they were bad. I'm saying that sucking their cocks and calling them "the greatest generation" is ludicrous. They did nothing special other than survive some poverty that, outside of the US, has been more or less the norm for all of human history... and they got drafted by the government, when they were teenagers, to go fight in a war that 90% of them did not understand. Was the war righteous? Yes, if any war other than pure national self-defense is righteous. Did they sign up voluntarily to go fight because having carefully reviewed the global political situation, they decided that it would be best to exterminate Nazis? No, they were drafted as kids to go kill people based on propaganda. Same as most soldiers in most wars.
