Did Arabs live outside the Arabian Peninsula before the spread of Islam?
How and when did Mesopotamia, the Levant, and North Africa become Arab?
Shapur II of the Sassanids resettled a bunch of Arabs throughout Persia as a retaliation against some raiding they did earlier

>The hypothesis that Jesus of Nazareth and his followers were in fundamental sympathy with the principles of the members of the anti-Roman resistance groups, the use of violence not excepted on principle, has been held by several scholars coming from very different ideological and cultural backgrounds (H.S. Reimarus, Ch. Hennell, K. Kautsky, R. Eisler, S.G.F. Brandon, H. Maccoby…) since the 18th century until the present.1 However, this hypothesis has remained a minority view: it is usually dismissed as outdated and refuted.2 The notion that Jesus was a politically innocuous preacher, who was not a threat whatsoever for the Romans, commends itself to many.3 That Jesus preached nonviolence remains virtually a dogma.

Jesus constantly praised Romans for having great faith, and told the occupied Jews to pay their taxes to Caesar, so, no.
>John P. Meier points out that the term "Zealot" is a mistranslation and in the context of the Gospels means "zealous" or "jealous" (in this case, for keeping the Law of Moses), as the Zealot movement did not exist until 30 to 40 years after the events of the Gospels.[5]

Why does America's colonial period hardly get mentioned outside of the Mayflower, Thanksgiving and the Salem trials? It seems like we just glance over a lot of our early history to get to the revolution. I'd like to learn more about how we annexed New Amsterdam or the wars with natives and France.
New Amsterdam wasn't uptight and restricted like New England, and they accepted everyone: Jews, Catholics, Quakers etc. It was such a geostrategic and successful place for trade that the English grew anxious about it.
The English began to harrass the Dutch by saying that all Dutchfags have to trade with English ships. Didn't actually affect them that much but it gave a reason for pirates to take over Dutch ships. The Dutch made a militia and the English asserted their dominance in the sea and before you know it...the Anglo-Dutch wars in the 1650s-1670s.
The leader of the Dutch army was called Maarten Tromp btw kek.
So the English captured New Amsterdam and named it New York.

Because they don't want to admit the British were kind lords until they rebelled but were just less kind
You make a good point. Students should learn more about this period of history. The rush to get to the Revolution and then speed along right up to the Civil War is stupid. The foundation of English/British/French/etc///settlements and colonies should be looked at more.
ITT post books that are dishonest, misinformed, or biased. Anything that misrepresents it's subject material. Can be intentional or not. Basically anything that if it were the only thing someone read about the subject, they would greatly misunderstand what actually happened.

why did Spain fail at annexing Portugal?
>inb4 memesters blame the hapsburgs
Spain had some gr8 years under them.
Spain was led by a literal inbred retard who probably had no idea what Portugal even was.
Portugal had a few allies
''And there appeared another wonder in heaven; and behold a great red dragon, having seven heads and ten horns, and seven crowns upon his heads,.'''
Hello /his i hope i have your attenton, In the bible revelations book, they showed us great prophesy of what signs there are that will come in the end times, right before the rapture and the days of the Red Dragon
And those signs have come true, this dragon was both censored and found in Virgo, heading to the mother and the 23 of Sept

Why do revolutions happen?
What is the tipping point that turns unhappiness to action? Is this a sudden moment or always the result of long, grinding abuse?
Is there a pattern we can make from human history to discern how they occur, what determines their success?

That's clever but I'm not gonna help your regime.

What is the most ancient species that is still alive?
>>2680100
There isn't a definitive answer because all species evolve constantly, and how different something can be and still be considered the same species is ultimately arbitrary.
But for a less pedantic answer... Horseshoe crabs? Basically unchanged for 450 million years.
>>2680158
>pedantic
Idk, probably some archaea/bacteria below the bottom of the sea.
Humanities bros, what is the social/psychological phenomena that explains why people accept negative change so readily? Overton window, but not so political. More along the lines of when they started introducing security cameras in school hallways we ignored and accepted a potential privacy violation so readily after a week or so.
Any ideas are more than welcome.

>The boiling frog is a common misconception describing a frog being slowly boiled alive. The premise is that if a frog is put suddenly into boiling water, it will jump out, but if the frog is put in tepid water which is then brought to a boil slowly, it will not perceive the danger and will be cooked to death. The story is often used as a metaphor for the inability or unwillingness of people to react to or be aware of threats that arise gradually.

What a funny guy Zhukov was once he was drinking with his friends, also a commanders and they were comparing their losses

>I lost 210 people today
then Zhukov said
>I lost 30...
>friends were in awe of his tactical genius and asked him how to reduce casualities then he finished sentence

another funny anecdote is when a soldier came up to him and asked
>comrade officer why do we only have rocks how are we supposed to survive the battle without guns?
and Zhukov answered
>you're not
