Power. I'll use it only for evil.
I choose Truth.

Are there any types of Christianity that don't believe in missionary work? I'm having trouble figuring this out.
This is the dumbest thing I ave ever heard.
If you become a Christian, then you believe you have found eternal life, freedom from sin, joy, peace, hope. What kind of person, if they truly believed that, would consider themselves loving and keep it to themselves.
“Blessed are you who are poor,
for yours is the kingdom of God.
21 Blessed are you who hunger now,
for you will be satisfied.
Blessed are you who weep now,
for you will laugh.
22 Blessed are you when people hate you,
when they exclude you and insult you
and reject your name as evil,
because of the Son of Man.
23 “Rejoice in that day and leap for joy, because great is your reward in heaven. For that is how their ancestors treated the prophets.
24 “But woe to you who are rich,
for you have already received your comfort.
25 Woe to you who are well fed now,
for you will go hungry.
Woe to you who laugh now,
for you will mourn and weep.
26 Woe to you when everyone speaks well of you,
for that is how their ancestors treated the false prophets.
3 And not only that, but we also boast in our sufferings, knowing that suffering produces endurance, 4 and endurance produces character, and character produces hope, 5 and hope does not disappoint us, because God’s love has been poured into our hearts through the Holy Spirit that has been given to us.
22 We know that the whole creation has been groaning as in the pains of childbirth right up to the present time.
Is it possible that human civilisation is in fact much older than we think and in fact human progress has been set back in the past due to cataclysmic events?

Possibly if that civilization built everything out of biodegradable environmental friendly shit.

I don't think I've ever even heard the expression "back attack". I know in roleplaying games there's typically an option for a sneak attack which is sometimes called a "backstab" but that's explicitly something you do when your target doesn't know you;re there, it's not a combat maneuver.

What would Christianity be like if Revelation was not considered gospel? What about John?
These are the two books that I feel do not fit with the rest; The character of Jesus in John is not humble like in the rest, but more godly. And Revelation just seems batshit to me, probably the result of mass hysteria and questions about end-times.
Are there churches that don't subscribe to these two books? They seem to be the cause of Christians being nothing like the Jesus they follow.
Is this that Wittgenstein quote?
>>2725018
Yes, in fact Wittgenstein coined the term "batshit".

Why are Dragons such a common mythological creature across the world? Also how did Eastern and Western Dragons become so divergent?
dino fossils
You didn't really think this through, did you?
>>2724962
This is just a linguistic misunderstanding. We've been using the word dragon to any mythical serpentine creature, even if they have nothing else in common.

What caused the Persians to lose control on the Greeks and to be subjugated by Alexander? Were the Achaemenids in decline when Alexander rolled in?
>>2724899
>What caused the Persians to lose control on the Greeks and to be subjugated by Alexander? Were the Achaemenids in decline when Alexander rolled in?
It's hard to say, because what constitutes a 'decline' isn't easy to work out when we have so little direct information on what the Achaemenids were like at all in day to day life. But they never really had a good track record in direct military confrontation with any of the Greeks except the Ionians. Both Darius's and Xerxes's invasions are disasters, the Delian league kicks the crap out of them for decades, and for whatever reason, they can never match the Greeks on the battlefield. At best, they can hire some Greeks to protect them from other Greeks, but you can see that even a middling army, like Xenophon's, could wrack the entire Empire, and that's just a rampaging band of mercenaries trying to get home.
>>2724899
>Were the Achaemenids in decline when Alexander rolled in?
No. After several decades of Egyptian independence Persia had just managed to reconquer Egypt. Darius III also had cleaned house and gotten rid of Bagoas (a different one than Alexander's bum-boy) who had been fucking up the Persian court for about ten years or so. Also, Darius began putting pressure on Hellas while Alexander was in Asia to try and get Alexander the turn back.
Alexander didn't give a fuck however, and just kept winning battle after battle and siege after siege. The siege of Tyre, which took nine months was actually quite genius of Alexander because it showed the other Phoenician city states that they would all get rekt the same as Tyre would if they didn't get in line, and they surprisingly enough did get in line. It also helped that Memnon of Rhodes died unexpectedly while he was stirring up shit in the Aegean. But even if he hadn't Alexander probably would have basically abandoned Greece and let Antipater hold the fort in Macedon. Also, Antipater did pretty well in putting down Sparta while Alexander was gone.
Persian military equipment was inferior to the Greeks

Intense aerial bombardment turns the city into a maze of ruins that hide snipers and machine gun nests.
One side refuses to retreat, the other side CAN'T retreat. Stalin wants his namesake city held at all cost.
Defenders bitterly contest every inch of ground. Brutal house-to-house fighting results in heavy casualties for both sides.
Winter sets in. Axis forces get surrounded.
The Germans decide to supply the 6th Army via airlift due to their successes with the Demyansk airlift.
Germans don't have enough planes to supply the army, and the Russians have air supremacy in the region.
Thousands of German soldiers freeze or starve. The rest keep fighting in hopes of being rescued.
Eventual surrender of the 6th Army is the biggest blow for Germany so far in the war. Only 5,000 of the German troops captured at Stalingrad would survive to see their country again.
Why didn't the 6th army retreat or have ANY reserves near the hungarian/italian line to counter attack a potential pocket?

Not mentioning their views on faith and will. Ignoring the importance od aesthethics in fascist thought. Disregarding their distaste for peace.
>>2724497
None of that seems inherent to the core concept but rather are just common trends in its appearances.
>>2724503
Hilarious. The fascists' view on faith (predominantly nationalist) and aesthetics (heroism, will and struggle) makes the very core of the ideology - the rebellion against the bourgeois values. Read this.

How did early humans learn to make bread? It's a bit complex process to learn by simply observing.
How did early humans learn to make bronze?
