/HIS/, WHO KILLED STONEWALL JACKSON?!
>>2726859
fragged by his own men
in their defense, he was batshit insane
Same guy that killed Charles XII
>>2727013
>batshit insane
But it worked.
>there are seriously people who study genealogy to learn about their genetic ancestry
Why? Your family tree are probably the products of rape, incest, adultery, and lots of fucking around outside of marriage and don't even know it. There is high chance you are too and your parents are liars about how you, a babby, got form. to make you happy and hide the shame.
People have access to church records that date back centuries you degenerate american hamburger. Even discounting that what's it to you if a person wants to get a detailed DNA test? Some of the more expensive ones are really good and can provide you with a lot of info.

>i'm a fatherless mutt, so you shouldn't enjoy coming from an illustrious and unbroken line of literal royalty
slave morality
>there are people who don't know their ancestry at least in the male line a dozen generations past simply via their family keeping records and stories alive and have to comb through dubious scattered records
Boggles the mind.

>Hey Anon why art thou so fascinated with history and historical figures? Doesn't thee know that our Most Graceful King knoweth all and rules these lands most benevolently by the Grace of God? Truly tis the greatest times, how could historical nations intrigue you more than the here and now?
How do you respond?

I think that divine rule of kings wasn't a thing by then.
>Nice hat, dork.

Why are Italian people from the 1860s talking in garbled Elizabethan English?
Why are millenials protrayed as a homogenous group having lots in common? There is a world difference between someone born in 1985 and someone born in the late 90s, Yet the guy born in the 80s is somehow put to be more similar to 90s kids than someone born in the 70s even though the culture between the 60s and 80s was much more similar than the one in late 90s or the 2000s.
SHould cultural generations be divided into 10 or 5 year brackets?
pic unrelated
>>2726249
Better question, why the fuck do you want to break people up into these generations at all?
>>2726254
So we can counteract our insecurities with aging. by feeling superior to the new generations.
>>2726409
To be fair, it's not just in one direction. Young people also foster resentment over the authority that (some) older people hold via seniority.
>>2726249
Newsflash, OP: dividing history into the 70s, 80s, 90s etc. is unscientific and has no explanatory or predictive power. Base-10 and the Georgian calendar aren't part of the fundamental structure of reality, you fucking moron.

It was just a puppet, the Japanese used it brutally- human experimentation and easy labour for resources. Despite that the Japanese built a lot of roads, railways and buildings. And it put Puyi on a throne which is alright but for the most part it was for exploitation.

Turks and Greeks is objectively the best, because it's the only one in which a clear line of continuity can be drawn for about 1,000 years.
What are some historical events that most of /his/ is dead wrong about?
People assume that peoples entire genomes change when they get conquered.
The Armenian genocide.

I think there is split in the community. The issue that the most famous case of conquest was the natives the Americas. In the US were many people on 4chan come from the natives were completely displaced or absorbed by a larger population. Also, aboriginals, Taiwan's natives. There are examples of populations being displaced, but this different than a normal conquest and replace the elites like the Normans in England.
Was Bukharin based? How would the USSR be different under his guidance?
Smart guy, helped oust Kamenev, Trotsky, and Zinoviev (for obvious reasons :^))realized market reforms were necessary and created the NEP, leader of the Right Opposition, opposed collectivization and was subsequently murdered by Stalin.
>British author Martin Amis argues that Bukharin was perhaps the only major Bolshevik to acknowledge "moral hesitation" by questioning, even in passing, the violence and sweeping reforms of the early Soviet Union. Amis writes that Bukharin said "during the Civil War he had seen 'things that I would not want even my enemies to see'."[39]
Huh, with all the leftists here you would figure this would be a popular thread.
Unless the leftists aren't really (((leftists))).

How did a bunch of braindead rowdy farmers build the fucking Cloaca?

The Etruscans built it.

Why didn't Khrushchev end the Cold War during Destalinization? Stalin was behind the installation of Communism in the Eastern Bloc, he was the reason tensions between the USSR and America flared up, and he was the reason the Nuclear Arms Race between the two countries began. So why didn't Khrushchev end the Cold War during Destalinization?
Wouldn't it be De-Stalinization? Since Stalin is a proper noun?
The system couldn't have taken the hit.
He was actually going to, but then the Soviets captured an American U2 Spy Plane infiltrating their airspace in 1960. Afterwards, their negotiatons ended and tensions rose up again
Is the opposition to physician assisted suicide just based on Christian dogma, or are there legitimate concerns?
>>2725865
A common argument against allowing physician assisted suicide is that people who suffer from treatable conditions could be coerced by family members or medical professionals into "ending it" due to personal factors (financial, social, ect.). I thought this argument was a little ridiculous after first, but after I started working as a hospital insurance specialist last year, I honestly think it has a lot of merit to it.
TLDR: Americans will use it to kill people who could live for the money

Why is it that killing a dying, suffering animal is considered an act of mercy but doing the same to a human makes you a terrible person?
Hey guys, I found this in a used book store I frequent today, but I can't seem to find any other duplicate of it on the internet. I found one with a black and red cover, and I'm assuming it says the same information, but I was wondering what you guys think? Probably just somebodies reprint?

Why was John F. Kennedy and his brother assassinated? Was it really Lee Harvey Oswald?
I always sort of assumed it was the mafia that did it as revenge for JFK cracking down on organized crime after they went through the trouble of helping him rig the 1960 election, and that LHO was either framed by the mafia to take the heat off or was a patriot trying to prevent the killing. The fact that LHO ended up getting whacked as well only furthers my suspicion.
What do you think?
Lee Harvey Oswald without any help.
Lee Harvey Oswald was one of at least 3 shooters. His bullet was probably the kill shot. His fellow comrades probably went on to teach sociology at harvard or got aids from gay sex
>>2725751
He crossed the CIA.
