Who is the contrarian's favorite president?
>>2788115
Grant, Coolidge, Van Buren, Andrew Jackson
Nixon
>>2788149
This. The most truly contrarian example. It's not enough to say that Nixon wasn't the worst and other presidents did worse things which would be true.
Is this man the pinnacle of Eurocentrism?
>white supremacist
>advocated the use of poison gas on Arab tribes
>did nothing to alleviate the Bengal famine, and said it was their own fault for "breeding like rabbits"
>was a hardcore imperialist in general, even his fellow tories thought he was too extreme
>wanted to kill Gandhi
>he fought the nazis though, so it's all ok
>who cares about those darkies anyway lmao
>I think a curse should rest on me — because I love this war. I know it's smashing and shattering the lives of thousands every moment — and yet — I can't help it — I enjoy every second of it.
That's what the cunt thought of WWI, wonder how much fun he had when Germany was bombing him?
>>2787769
He made plenty of mistakes and was a pretty problematic guy, but why should anyone care about arab tribes ?
>>2787787
>cunt
Sorry that your grandpops was killed becuase they couldn't FOLLOW HIS FUCKING PLAN OF A SNEAK ATTACK ON THE DRADNELLES AND THE SHELLING OF CONSTATNINOPLE
>When I was still new to the royal palace, I looked out the window and saw a guard standing in the middle of a courtyard, nothing to protect. Nothing to guard. No doors. I couldn't figure out what he was guarding. And so I asked around, no one knew. Not even the emperor. Finally they searched through the old records and found the truth: that 200 years before, as winter came to an end, the emperor's daughter saw the first flower growing up through the snow. To keep anyone from walking on it she assigned a guard to stand watch over it, everyday. After that she never gave it much thought, and thus never countermanded the order. As a result, every day, for 200 years, a guard would stand in that place, long after the flower was gone. Long after the reason had been forgotten. Long after the princess was gone. As I said, these things happen [in a monarchy].
And you guys say that this is the best form of government
I concur, we should let television shows dictate all of our political thought.
>>2787306
Of all the ways you can support your opinion, you quote a 20-year-old scifi show.
>>2787306
>As I said, these things happen [in a any traditionalist society].
The Romans during their republic had all sorts of totally fucking inane traditions that nobody remembered the reason for, but they did it because that's the way dad did it, that's the way Roma does it, and it worked out pretty well so far.
Could the US Civil War have been avoided or was it inevitable? What could have been done to prevent it?
It was bound to have happened eventually. The differences between the northern and southern states was just too great.
>>2787249
Differences can be overcome peacefully. All revolutions and civil wars could hypothetically be avoided, but you'd have to go a long way back in time to do it.
>>2787261
Imagine if China wasn't autistic, there would be 2 or 3 billion of those fucks then.
If god exists, then why did he create a race of such evil men?
>>2787170
God doesn't exist, the real question here is why did evil men create a country like Belgium? Seriously, what is Belgium good for?
Why is Belgium even a thing? France should take half and The Nethelands the other half and stop this country. There are too many countries already.
This is Ferdinand VII, king of Spain from 1808 to 1833.
Say something nice about him.
>>2785376
Argentina is a country because the english paid some mason to start a revolution in the south after failing at conquering it in 1804 and 1805
He probably had a lot of dreams about making the Spanish empire great and feared again.
He's not a H*psburg.
How do religious people justify being racist/sexist/xenophobic?
>>2785318
Jesus came to save humans, not filthy beaners.
It's okay because GOD
>>2785318
Poorly.
Is world war 1 the most surreal war in history?
>massive use of chemical weapon attacks
>those fucked up French post-war facial injury grafts
>human wave attack where thousands of humans are ripped to shreds in a matter of minutes
>huge behemothic zeppelins appearing in the skies above london
>German spies in London using car headlights at night to guide the zeppelins to vulnerable isolated English villages
>tanks appear on the battlefield for the first time in history in the form of huge unstoppable behemoths of steel slowly advancing towards you and firing death in all directions
>>2785100
>tanks appear on the battlefield for the first time in history in the form of huge unstoppable behemoths of steel slowly advancing towards you and firing death in all directions
Not really.
The British "Landships" frequently broke down in the cratered western front, and German Direct-Fire artillery suddenly had a new job (since German artillery focused more on howitzers that can fire indirectly rather than field guns).
It was only very, very late in WWI that Tanks were worth something.
>>2785100
I recently started reading a lot about WW1, and I honestly think it is a lot more interesting than WW2, and there is a simple reason for that. During WW2, people kind knew what to expect. For WW1, nobody had a fucking clue that the fuck they were getting into. Everybody believed that it would be a short war, like wars of the past, where a battle would be won by a quick decisive bayonet charge. In a weird way, it reminds of some sort of cosmic horror, which ordinary people being asked to confront unspeakable horrors that will shatter their minds forever.
You're kinda giving tanks too much credit
Go check out the ww1 episode of "greatest tank battles"
He is easily among the top five worst Presidents in history. Fuck him and all the terrible precedents he set. He is a disgrace to the once noble South.
>>2784772
Literally nothing wrong.
ok bro
>>2784772
>Noble South
How historically accurate is this pic /his/?
>>2784075
Well, it is written from a far-left perspective, and thus definitely colored by opinion. But it is still pretty accurate, sociologically speaking. From a historical standpoint, it lacks references to certain areas and time periods.
"Corporate Feudalism" is a deliberately misleading name, obfuscating the nature of capitalist class relations
>>2784102
>thus definitely colored by opinion
everything is coloured by opinion
>>2784075
>RETARD TIER
"Capitalism is much better than feudalism"
>UNWOKE TIER
"Capitalism is just as bad as feudalism"
>WOKE TIER
"Capitalism is much, much worse than feudalism"
Why do ameriburgers love to worship this event so much? Can i get a quick rundown?
>>2783028
>Why do texans love to worship this event
Ftfy
>>2783028
The same reason Serbs worship Kosovo.
>>2783028
longstanding propaganda that became ingrained in American culture, considering it fed into the Mexican American war which gained us so much of our present territory
also Texans have an abnormally high sense of patriotism and identity from their state
Why does it seem so hard for some to accept some civilizations were less advanced than others? When I see a thread about Africa, there are always some people to claim the empires in western africa were as advanced as their europeans contemporaries. And basically, if you disagree with this, it's because of eurocentrism.
I fail to see the logic. Europeans invaded the whole world, but were still able to see that some civilizations were more advanced than others Is it eurocentrism to say China and Japan were far more advanced than Mali?
I feel like you're someone who doesn't have any particular interest in history but you just want to get into some kind of ideological dick waving contest with crazy lefties.
No it is not Eurocentric to say that China or Japan were more advanced than Mali but I doubt you've ever read a book about any of those societies so I don't know how it matters.
political correctness
>>2782957
The societies and civilizations of Africa are rooted first and foremost as Pastoralists societies with key niche populations arising and then out populating Pastoralists peoples. But both groups relied and vied for power over one another.
Without Pastoralists the manure farmers found necessary to survive away from the alluvial soil replenished annually would be all but impossible but without grains or crop stubble no herding group, not even Tuareg could survive in their numbers.
The civilizations of the Sahelian are NOT comparable to Egypt or China or Rome or Greece. Those civilizations are rooted first and foremost with agriculture in very fertile river bottoms were agriculture came before and developed much longer than in the Sahelian in the post-Neolithic Subpluvial.
Has there ever been an successful Islamic Republic?
>>2790480
Iran.
>>2790480
Islam and Republicanism aren't very compatible. Best answer I can think of is Turkey from Ataturk to when Erdogan was elected.
>>2790480
The Ottoman Empire before the white fags came.
What kind of tangible influence did Shakespeare have on writers that succeeded him?
English itself.
LOGH isn't remotely Shakespearean, Shakespeare didn't really care about military tactics or political debates which is 99% of what LOGH is
What went wrong?
>>2790362
Nobel peace prize is a complete fucking meme and always has been.
It should be called an "influence" nobel prize or some shit.
>>2790362
Invading and subjugating other nations. Executing and exterminating innocents. Killing his best friend. Banning books and classical music so the young can be indoctrinated with Mein Kampf. Pick one.
>>2790374
All nobel prizes are bullshit, even the physics and chemistry ones, just jews giving awards to other jews.
