Adult webnovels have pretty much never been an explored area, presumably because all of the other mediums above combine both a narrative AND illustration, which webnovels don't.

It's a matter of convenience, adult webnovels are just narrative and your imagination at play while doujinshi, rpgmaker games, nukige, and straight up hentai have narrative and pretty pictures to jerk off to instead of just text.

I'm not dissing on porn webnovels, I'm being honest about the truth. All the other mediums do more for the viewer so you get left with niche audience that can like only text descriptions to fap to.

There was little reaction IIRC, the thing is we all kind of knew something was ooo with shakuganexa translations (because the chinese group had different translation and his grammar was below average),
the man definitely knows his japanese but he decided to throw up some of his ideas to the mix without telling anybody,
now why he did it? only he knows.
In summary both his and the chinese effort are both accurate and inaccurate at the same time, just in different ways.
