Fakku uses some contrived methods to prevent scraping.

First, any images that make it to the browser are scrambled. They force you to run the 3k minified javascript called ghostslide in order to unscramble them. Ghostslide puts the images into a tainted canvas element so browsers like chrome complain about CORS.

To easily save an image:
Use Firefox
about:config -> dom.event.contextmenu.enabled (To enable your rightclick)
Go to a gallery
Go to a page
Run this snippet:
>document.getElementsByClassName('amaze-layer')[1].remove()
(this will remove the navigation but the mouse buttons and arrow keys will still work)
Right click -> Save as now works.


This is obviously horrible for any sort of mass scripting but I just wanted to use it for a few select galleries (henreader, gommenasai, etc...)

Honeyview has been my go to. It's not perfect, with problems like a decent wait for startup and some issues moving the window, but I found it does a lot of things that the others I have tried lack.

Things like playing all my GIFs I downloaded at the right speed and being able to easily locate and move files as needed are some of the things I love the most about it.

I agree on IrfanView looking ugly. On top of that I hated how it tried to play videos. It doesn't do it well and I'm often not expecting to be blasted with sound. (Although I'm sure you can probably turn this off.)

I've always used ACDSee. Although it should be said sometimes the GIFs playback with some weird pixelated effect and it just depends on how it was originally saved. I can fix this by opening the GIF and saving it again with just ulead gif animator.

I've never attempted to use any other viewer. It works just fine for me and it's pretty good for sorting everything too.

Flash's save file system relies on what are known as SharedObjects:

When you ask flash to create or open one of these, a .sol file is created in a subdirectory in the folder noted in:

The subdirectory used is often recognised as a temporary directory, just like browsing history, by various system cleaning applications. For example, CCleaner.
These applications can remove the .sol files, thus erasing your progress.
It should also be noted that the exact path used by flash is determined by where you run the application that creates the save. If you have two copies of the same game in different locations, two different save files will be created. (Note, you can avoid this by providing a specific path in the SharedObject but seismic has unfortunately not done so).


As for the button being bugged, you'll have to note for yourself the behaviour of the buttons. Even when you change them they appear to switch back or change the selection almost randomly. This is due to seismic's implementation.
