Hey /gd/, how much would it cost to commission a nice, google-quality banner image for a website? I'm thinking something like pic related.
I could do it for $120.

lmao
>>315997
I would find a professional on Dribbble and ask them for a quote. I imagine it would be at least $200

Yeah, this seems about right. Depends how detailed you want it to be and a lot of other factors, but in general don't expect to pay less than $150 for some decent illustration.
>>315998
imagine being so autistic
just imagine
2-6 hours of work (depending on customer needs), so, 80-200
>>316022
You're not the professional one here. :^)
>>316022
How is Dribble not "professional"? Are you implying ~$200 is unreasonable? Do you ahve any idea at all what you're even talking about?
>>315997
God, I fucking hate this 'style' so much...
>>316022
LOL please tell us what your opinion is then. This style of illustration is commonly done by people on Dribbble, and $200 is ~4hrs of work at $50/hr.
>>316078
Also $200 is a good idea of the minimum to pay, it would depend on the complexity and who it's for. If it was actually for Google then you could get away with $1500+
Forget about Dribbble, OP. You've landed in the right place: [email protected]
>>316078
If you're working for anything less than $150 an hour, you're not paying your taxes.
>>316099
Straight outta third world country, mate.
>>316099
if you're working for $150/hr you're not posting on /gd/
$50-80 is average, $30-40 is common and $10-20 is what most people here would charge because they suck
>>316099
Protip: a lower hourly rate with more hours billed on the invoice looks better to clients.
Just fudge the numbers, in the end it makes no difference as an independent contractor whether you're working 10 hours at $200 or 20 hours at $100/hr

Same, flat ui/design is very ok but flat illustration is so 2016 and highly overdone lets start designer campaign to stop em, its the new comic sans of design.
>>316710
But neither one of those are flat design. The image is actually 3D and the ones from the link are hand made digitally painted illustrations. I was talking about the Dribbble shit, where it's painfully obvious how little effort went into production. Illustrations made only with 2D geometrical shapes.
