Yeah you need hi-res images to produce good results with tracing. If I were you I'd go to YT and look up texturing tutorials for Photoshop. There are lots of ways to do this!

seems like you're right, it was manually distressed because i google'd "distressed" and "jagged" fonts, tons of results but nothing like this but the shape, i guess i'm going to work with http://www.fontspace.com/beycan-%C3%A7etin/matiz
