How on earth are you coming up with that conclusion? The cover is falling into a perfect grid with consistancy in the title, UPC, in-house style fonts, etc. The graphic design is perfect, and not at all unusual in the field.
The only thing "creative" is 'Vintage Gonzo' on top of Juxtapoz.
If that's your proof, find a better example.
