Well, I have downloaded a Blambot pack (magnet:?xt=urn:btih:5515f7d63fe6215a83ccc76214d0b8d7f427b335&dn=100~%20Amazing%20Comic%20Fonts%20(For%20MAC%20%26%20PC)&tr=udp%3a%2f%2ftracker.coppersurfer.tk%3a6969&tr=udp%3a%2f%2fexodus.desync.com%3a6969&tr=udp%3a%2f%2ftracker.openbittorrent.com%3a80&tr=udp%3a%2f%2fopen.demonii.com%3a1337), but a), no Alter ago in it, amnd secondly, for some reason many of these fonts only have Latin alphabet, no diacritic characters.

Does anyone know a place to check for fonts before coming to threads like these?

It's used all over Japan, from road signs to posters to magazines.

Can anyone tell me what typeface this is? I thought it might be a specific variant of Univers or Akzidenz-Grotesk, but I'm not convinced. I've seen it only in a couple of places. This is the first example I've seen of it online. The physical examples I've seen have been in British public sector publications from around the end of the 1960s/1970s, so right in there for Univers/Helvetica/Akzidenz-Grotesk etc.

If it would help, I have a print version elsewhere that I could take a photograph / scan of as an additional example.
