>Their stuff is super david Rudnicy,
lmao your mind is about to be blown
>>309277
Oh, is it literally him? I had a brief look a little while back and couldn't see his name connected with it so I assumed it was someone taking inspiration from the fella.
I wish my scanner wasn't dicked, I've got a book of some fire Taisho stuff and a pile of late-Showa magazines sitting around just begging for a thread like this.

>Taisho stuff
that's like 1920s right?
shit I absolutely love japanese art deco and early modernist design
if you ever get the chance to skan it, pls make a thread and upload it here !!!
Y'all might find http://japanese-pattern.info/ interesting and helpful. The emphasis is on various traditional patterns that can be tiled for use as backgrounds/textures/etc. but there's some other stuff on it too.

Nobody uses them, though. Don't even know where I'd buy one (Amazon aside)
>>310276
mah dude, most indie artists on bandcamp sell cassettes (often with nice designs !). It's very trendy

Fanzine cover intended to mimic cover design of a major alternative weekly (ie, Japanese copying Japanese design!), Tsukasa Nemigi ねみぎつかさ, 2014

Breddy gud lad, but to improve learn to use a grid structure system properly and use a proper block / grotesk font instead of pleb-tier impact. Also I would use the bright orange colour in the photograph, as well as the already used muted red, for the typography
>>310766
Pretty good
>>310874
I have several hundred pages, which are mostly text. It would stomp the thread and probably kill her chances of selling her last few copies, so I'll pass on dumping; may pick out a short chapter at some point and tl it.
>>311274
True. I'll keep that in mind. Why would someone who DOES read japanese be different in that situation though?
>>311276
The filter you used for the calligraphy ate important parts of the characters (compare ttp://pic29.photophoto.cn/20131217/0006019574440535_b.jpg), siren is spelled セイレン or セイレーン, ー is always written in the direction of writing, and the uh, I forget the English name but the smaller characters used as combiners align to the right and don't take an entire "box" in print. (if you do go full grid, they align to the upper-right.)
bored and playing around with the concept
>>311279
It wasn't a filter, It's a japanese font. even went to a japanese font website to download it. I guess it's difficult when you cant actually read it yourself. I have a japanese friend though (born and still lives there) I'll probably consult her if I end up doing anything else in japanese.
Thanks for the input, anon.
I have two or three Almost A3 sized books from the Japanese government promoting trade from the 60s, thick, and on lovely paper with fantastic designs.
Sadly I am poor as fuck, only have an a4 scanner and don't know anyone who has a good A3 scanner. Would love to make them public but sadly no way to do so. I have bits and pieces of other stuff from when we lived in Japan too.
Nice thread OP
