Hello everyone. I spent last weeks doing my new portfolio and CV. Opinions or suggestions?
https://ebarchblog.wordpress.com/2017/05/06/curriculum-vitae-e-portfolio/
there's no reason to have a cover for your CV unless you're handing it out personally. even then, at least put your name on the front and come up with something more interesting than this uninspired yellow circle thing with a bland typeface. and what is that, a 120 page portfolio and a 32 page CV? if you're gonna use stock renderings at least pick something that matches the amount of content.
now, besides that, the insides looks great, though I'm only judging a total of four pages.
>portfolio
good use of white space, proper weight for headings. very visual, images have consistent lighting and colour palette which really helps present the overall case. keep doing that.
>CV
well structured, good layout. circular photo crop is nice.
suggestions
>align your name in your CV to the left of the intro. no reason to have it centered there
>your most recent experience should be on top, just like your education
>switch your CV to English, though you can consider having an Italian version for back-up Italian studios or clients
>for the love of god design a better cover. you obviously know how to draft a good layout, so make use of those skills

oh, and on a content related note. remove the balloon and those people in the foreground of your first case, it only distracts from the mountain and structure. the people walking up the stairs are fine by themselves.
However the number of pages is not realistic. They are rendering made just to give a general view of the project.
The curriculum is composed of 3 pages, inside a cardboard cover while the portfolio counts about 50 pages in its full version.
Thank you for your feedback, i really appreciate your help.
And yes, the printed version is clearly made to be handed out personally :D
The inside is nice, the cover is fuck-ugly. Breaking words up isn't cool, you're not Carson.
Honestly, the cover put me off wanting to see the inside. And when I did see how nice the inside was, I thought 'why's he done the cover like that?'. Dunno what it's like for architects, but for designers it makes me think you'd do dumb shit just to be different.

Thank you for sharing your opinion.
I will try to rethink the cover. Obviously i actually like it but i want to try to follow your advice and improve it.
Thank you so much!
That's a ton of pages. When you go to an interview at an Architecture firm, the portfolio is generally an icebreaker. The interviewer mostly wants to get an idea who you are as a person and whether you will commit to the firm and work well with others. There are people who may have a great portfolio but when you talk to them, they will not be socially responsive or have an ego and thus not be considered.
It doesn't work as much vice-versa, even if you have a great personality, but if you look at their portfolio and there are errors while the interviewee is saying that they have an attention to detail, it will raise some red flags.
From your portfolio though, besides the bland cover, I like your use of white space and the organized layout. But there isn't enough information to base a better crit from only 4 pages.
Since this is a crit thread, might as well post my portfolio.

Thank you for your advices. However, as i said before, "the number of pages is not realistic. They are rendering made just to give a general view of the project.
The curriculum is composed of 3 pages, inside a cardboard cover while the portfolio counts about 50 pages in its full version".
I will work on a restyling for the covers, even if i obviously apreciate this one. Next day i will post here the results.
Thank you everyone

Do people recommend putting your resume.in your portfolio?
