Trying to do a logo for a music streaming service, they want it looking 'technical' and 'nerdy' as opposed to anything to do with musical notes or smiling mascots.

These are initial concepts.

I'm trying to make the A look like it's made from wave-forms, anyone know of any better techniques for making non-uniform wire frame/mesh letters?

eyebrows too close together, should be aligned with the eyes more, eyes are too angular and tilted weirdly making it look sad or beady eyed rather than noble or fierce, mouth/muzzle part looks like pom poms or something because you're using perfect circles of equal sizes, mouth should extend out to the left and right more so it doesn't look like it's pursing its lips, the whiskers look weird and you should come up with a different way to draw them (the perfectly uniform curves make them not read like whiskers, looks more like the markings on a mandrill's face or something),

I think you should work a font that one might not expect with hardcore into the negative space in the middle left version, see how it looks.

Middle left and bottom two are my favorites. Top left looks great too, but I think you could afford to stand out a bit more from other noise/hardcore acts, given that you have other, more unique art to pick from.

Faaaar more readable. The problem is that the brain works quite like a dictionary. So if the start of the word is unrecognizable, it is very hard to make out the rest. If the beginning is recognizable, your brain will make assumptions or predictionary for the remainder and it will be much easier to identify the later letters, even if they are more difficult.

As a analysis guy, I must agree. Especially those areas where it's non-differentiable, and even splits up are quite painful. But I think that is a standard filling algorithm of the programm s/he's using, so I doubt it can be fixed without removing the general lines-pattern.

Just to add to this, if I don't split the middle line into 3 lines (Which you mentioned looked weird, and I agree with you there) then I'm left with too much 'bare space'. I only have a limited amount of lines to play with because I'm being strict with how many I want in the logo (Readability etc). Again, any tips for this? How would it look with true 3D?

This was my immediate assessment, too. The design isn't particularly impressive or strong, but the extra shade of pink/grey just feels like you're insecure and trying to spruce up a concept you don't believe in. Either own the shape of it and make it one color, or ditch the design and come up with something new.

Save it as a png.
Sadly no, that angle for the sperm looks really weird. The tail being bigger is a step in the right direction though.
Keep it lined up with the rest of the circle and just shorten the tail (rather than curling it up) if you need to. People will know it's a sperm even without a ridiculously long tail.

You could. Although I get totally different vibes from the two.
The current one feels like something you'd see in a college or a club, the second one seems more like what an actual research team would use. So depending on who your client is they can give two different impressions, at least to me.

It is a bit jarring but I don't really see what you can do about it. Maybe get rid of the whiskers and eyes, and make it a bit smaller overall (or just move it if you get rid of the whiskers) so that it doesn't cut into the circle like it does now.
Although doing that might make it look kind of boring. In which case keep the circle like it is, but get the sperm closer to the edge so it starts sort of cutting into the circle as well. Not too much though.

You'll need to fix the text of course, and lose the bold & - leave it regular.
Top looks better, but try without any white between the sperm head and black line that passes through it, it's creating tension.
The contrast between low detail egg and higher detail sperm is also a bit odd, try putting a bit more detail into the egg.

Yeah that coffe stain is a plugin I used at the last minute without any real reason, it looks bad but I was to lazy to remove it.
As for the stamp I based the thing on a Zimbabwean birth document so I just imitated the structure. It does look redundant though. I'll fix some stuff and post a better version

Well I'm not an employer so I can't say I know what they look for, but if I was I would only be impressed by the amount of effort that went into it rather than the quality of the image itself. I wouldn't employ someone who spends a long time working on something that still doesn't look good.
If you want to show off your skills in Illustrator, vector illustrations are generally not a good way to do it.

6 reminds me of VA-11 Hall-A with its light purple and blue color scheme.

illustrator? not really sure but i was you i would rather instead of focusing on the entire thing at once i would start by building 'assets' or the small walls on the sides, for example i would spend a few mins working on a single wall (pic related) and then copy paste it a bunch of times making small changes or variations on each after that just join a few of the copies so there's some variation and two same copies don't get together (add a shadow to the first one copy), after that just play with the perspective by draging the base points.
also the shadows on the right pic seems different to yours he probably made a linear gradient on each angle/wall instead of one on the entire left wall.
if you want if you get stuck on some part or don't know how to do it leave a link for the project i wouldn't mind messing around with it.

Thank you for your feedback. Unfortunately this is not illustrator as I'm still learning to use illustrator so I'm on "easy" tasks. Oh boy.

Your initials are a good (although somewhat unoriginal) use of negative space. However, the top and bottom edges of the C do not line up with the half-ring outside the D.

I also think your colors are shit. Option one is to stick to one color (and a second "dark background" color), such as that green you've got. Option two is to pick one of the foreground colors and change it radically, to something bluish or yellowish. Anything that's not just a slighly different shade of shit-green.

The underline coming out of the capital letters works well for the C, but not for the D. Separate the D and the underline, or get rid of the underline under Designs completely. I also get that you're trying to stay consistent with the logo when it comes to the outline around the text, but it looks like ass.

Now, for the less straightforward changes. The C and D take up much less space in your logo than they ought to, based on their importance. My suggestion is something like [pic attached].'

I would do away completely with the logo's outline, as well.

crowns are pretty overdone in streetwear so do something distinguishing with it. style has potential, maybe make it even more sketch-like. also don't squeeze the text so much, leave it some space. the "BP" are really awkward.
